It still works if the RDS is Hamura or any Ootstsuki (RDS has features of Ootstsuki) as all Ootstsuki could have been immune to MT simply because they helped Kaguya create MT (Sacrificing their bodies to become White Zetsu to first MT).

It's not a genjutsu by itself. First, it traps the user in a genjutsu, and then the God tree sucks out their life force and chakra. Edos have no life force nor chakra, so the god tree would clearly not latch onto them, which probably means they don't get trappedin the genjutsu either.

Even if we go by this, the genjutsu should have gotten them, even if they might not be able to turn into zetsu.

The Shinju will absorb everything Alive or Dead, beacuse it is controlled by the Will of Kaguya. And Kaguya wanted to make all chakra one. She won't discriminate between Edo and Live people.

And there is no way an Edo is breaking MT unless they have a Rinnesharingan.

Edos don't have to break it since they're immune. And evidently her priorities changed because the remaining edos roamed free up until she was defeated.

They are not Immune to MT imo. Even if they are not immune, Because they use chakra , they would still be caught in the Shinju's roots and would have to do a massive fight to prevent being absorbed. (Which clearly didn't happen).

Kaguya would have absorbed the Eddos regardless. The only reason why she did not was because in the end fight she switched dimensions and the Edos did not get caught in it. If she had not switched dimensions, Team 7 along with the Edos would have to fight against Kaguya/Shinju to prevent being absorbed.

Not completely true since there can be different mechanisms for triggering the chakra disruption, such as sound vs visual genjutsu. There may even be more factors involved and no one other than kishi should assume to think they know ALL it is to know on genjutsu.
