Arcs you would add, delete or shorten in the manga if you could

I'll start this off by saying I would delete and shorten large portions of the war arc. It went on for 4 years and 200+ chapters and Kishi still managed to come up short with dozens of characters.


In it's place I would add arcs with the other Jinchuricki. You know the ones we probably wouldn't know their names if their wasn't a Naruto wikia or video games that feature them as characters.

Conflate the Jinchuricki storylines (Yugito, Yagura, Roshi, Han, Ukataka, Fu) with some of the adventures with K11 teams that are not Team 7. Give Teams Guy, Kurenai, and Asuma something to do.

We learn about the Jins, their villages, and catch up with characters who have ties to Naruto.

Also I would flesh out the Kaguya arc to be more than just a 11 chapter filler to the main story. Oh and the epilogue chapter 700 can be deleted too.

I'd delete Kaguya arc and 10 Tails arc.

I'd end the manga with Obito's downfall, removing all the Kaguya arc crap.

I'd also remove the epilogue, as it's absolutely not needed and only spoils the overall impression.

And of course I'd get rid of the whole Edo Tensei Asspull crap.

And about adding something... I'd probably give some more developement to some of Akatsuki, not just killing them off like Kishi did.

I would also make p1 a bit longer, like 80-100 more chapters.

2) Hinata dies in Chunin exams prelims.
3) No pairing wars bs and not the ending like it is. :|

For real, Kishimoto introduced so many characters, so many subplots and so much substance in general that this series should have last at least until 1100 chapter, an extra 400 chapters. However, I don't think any of the canon arcs should be not included.

You know this would have been an ideal formula for developing both side characters, side clans, other countries all at the same time.

Invasion of Konoha arc
Search for Tsunade arc
Have Team 7 and Team Gai go on a mission to a certain country, preferably the Cloud, introduce some of the characters, like Darui.
Have Team 7 and Team 8 go on a mission to a certain country, preferably to the Stone, exploring the clans there and developing antaginization between Konoha and the Stone.
Have Team 7 and Team 10 go on a mission to a certain country, preferably the mist, explore the politics there and people's views on blood line users, explore Mei's background.
Sasuke Retrival arc

TIME SKIP

Give Team Gai actual relevance in the Gaara arc
Have team 8 tag along with Team 7 on the Sasuke/Sai arc.
Immortals arc was pretty good as it was.
Give team 8 actual battle feats in the Itachi pursuit arc.
Have an arc where Lee is the main character [like how it was with SHikamaru; have Lee bond with Neji and Sakura here]
Have an arc where Hinata is the main character [Hyuga backstory and development; foreshadow Kaguya here]
Pain arc - This was good as it was
War arc - There's a lot of things I'd change in this arc, so I'll just drop it .
Juubi revival
Madara's return arc
Kaguya's Revival arc - Extend it by 50-60 chapters, make it after Naruto VS Sasuke or something

This would have been my ideal format

Your probably the only one who includes Kaguya's arc in, it was utter shit.

Also, I think it would have been good if the jins all got arcs. Gaara already had his, which would be followed by Yugito/Bee tails arc, which would be followed by Yugara/Ukataka arc, which would then be followed by Roshi/Hans arc, and then finally Fuu gets her own arc.

Not too much.

(1) Delete the Kaguya arc.

(2) Shorten the war.

(3) Extend the Akatsuki arc a bit.

(4) Delete Itachi sacrificing himself to stop Edo Tensei, since it was already crippled significantly and it ended up not having any affect on Madara. I know he had his closure with Sasuke and what he did was noble, but it didn't serve a huge purpose since Madara broke free of Edo Tensei. I would've rather had him contribute to the war a bit more.

You know the Kaguya arc could've been expandaed to explain Hagormo +Hamura, the Juubi, Asura, Indra and the clans that came from them (Uchiha, Senju/Uzumaki, Hyuga and Kaguya); instead of the way things were in the manga. Exposition via flashback. I wouldn't have Kaguya fight in the manga but she could reamain the matriarch of those 4 ninja clans. More about Hagormo creating Ninshuu would not go unmissed either.

Delete the Kaguya Arc

Change the Kage Summit arc - (mainly Team 7's horrible portrayal during that arc)

Shorten the war arc - (Kill off Kabuto and Obito much earlier.....keep neji ALIVE)

I would also change the story of "The Last: Naruto the movie" - (since that's also canon to the manga)

I agree with you Lady Byakugan. Part 1 needed to be longer. And by longer, I mean that Team 7 needed to do more together than 1 mission we saw (Land of Waves) and 7 others we didn't see (8 missions minimum is required to participate in the Chunin Exams). After the Chunin Exams, it was Itachi's Return to Konoha + the Search for Tsunade, and then the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. Midway though the chunin exams (the Prelims) was the last time we saw Team 7 interact. We need more adventures with them together to merit the fierce devotion Sakura and Naruto devoted to reuniting with Sasuke in Part 2.
