There are some major misconceptions going around about the sharingan that I would really like to clear up!

1. People mistakenly believe that the awakening of the sharingan or the sharingan in general depends on the actual vision of an Uchiha's normal eyes. This belief is why some people believe that Sarada can't get sharingan (because she wears glasses). This belief is so incorrect that it is annoying! For starters, when did the manga ever state that you need good vision to get sharingan? You need emotional stress, not good vision! Second of all, most of the sharingan's power's don't even depend on vision. They may depend on line of sight, but they do not depend on vision (keep in mind that line of sight is not the same thing as vision)! For example, Itachi was almost as blind as a bat, yet he was still able to one-shot Kakashi with tsukuyomi by looking into his eyes. About 3 years later when his vision was undoubtedly even worse, he was still able to use tsukuyomi and amaterasu against Sasuke. This is what I mean when I say line of sight. Itachi couldn't really see that well, but his targets were still in front of them where he could still look into their eyes or launch amaterasu at them (whether he saw them clearly or not).

Furthermore, let us not even forget that Madara used susanoo with no eyes at all!! Sharingan is basically a more power oriented thing rather than an actual vision oriented thing despite being an eye.

2. People really took Tobirama's analysis of the amount of stress one needs to awaken sharingan way out of context! People say crap like "Sarada hasn't lost anyone or experienced any trauma, so she can't awaken it". For starters, since when does not currently having any traumatic experiences mean that you can never have any trauma at some point in the future? Second of all, despite what Tobirama said, an Uchiha does not really have to actually lose anyone or have that traumatic of a situation to awaken the sharingan!

Obito awakened the sharingan after just seeing Kakashi's eye get cut. Kakashi wasn't even mortally wounded! I don't exactly call that losing love. Yes it is stressful, but people treat Tobirama's explanation as meaning that the Uchiha needs to experience something as bad as what Sasuke experienced on the night of the Uchiha massacre. Here is another example: Madara awakened it after Butsuma Senju simply threw a kunai at Izuna. The knife didn't even hit Izuna. Izuna was totally fine, and yet Madara awakened sharingan. Keep in mind that we saw this scene of Madara awakening it a few chapters after Tobirama's explanation (which lets you know that Tobirama's explanation was not a retcon of what happened with Obito).

In short, here we have two great examples: Obito awakened it after just seeing Kakashi's eye get cut and Madara awakened it after Butsuma threw a kunai at Izuna which didn't even hit Izuna! Seeing as how neither Kakashi nor Izuna were killed or even incapacitated, it is safe to say that neither of them actually lost love or experienced something too too traumatic in these cases. At best they were only scares! Essentially, a good enough scare is all it really takes for an Uchiha to awaken sharingan!

Therefore it is fallacy to claim that Sarada probably won't awaken it because she probably won't lose anyone. She doesn't need to lose anyone. She just needs a stressful enough situation. You may argue that it is a time of peace, but that doesn't mean that all conflict has ceased. There are still common criminals and rouge shinobi. Furthermore, Sarada is in the academy to become a ninja, so putting herself in stressful situations will be apart of her job description. Plus, there is still the issue of Orochimaru who will probably be after her. Between Orochimaru and her general career as a shinobi, there is at least a good chance that at some point she will have a good enough stressful situation to awaken it.

Remember, losing someone applies to the mangekyou sharingan, not the standard sharingan.

3. There is no such thing as fodder genetics! Butsuma wasn't particularly famous, but Hashirama became world renowned. Might Dai wasn't implied to be that strong, but Guy became a pretty strong jounin. Fugaku and Mikoto weren't particularly famous like some other Uchihas, but Sasuke became rikudou level! The list goes on and on!

4. To anyone who spouts that crap "not all Uchihas awaken sharingan" as their logic: I can just as easily say that not all Uchihas fail to awaken sharingan! Who are you to say which category Sarada will fall into?

5. For those who argue that Sarada is a female and Kishi is bad with females, you are wrong in the latter half of this statement when it comes to power. Kishi only meant he was bad in terms of developing female personalities! In terms of power, Kaguya is the strongest character in the manga! Konan, Temari, Tsunade, Mei and Kurotsuchi aren't half bad either. In terms of all the females being "pairing fodder", you are wrong about that too. Only 2 females were really emphasized in terms of pairings (Sakura and Hinata). Others may have ended up married, but they actually did other stuff when shown and their romantic lives weren't really emphasized. Take Ino for instance (especially during the war). Ino played a crucial part in taking down Kinkaku, edo Asuma and she even managed to possess Obito twice and save Naruto, Bee, Kakashi and Guy from the juubi's bijuudama! She also acted as telepathic connection for the alliance after Inoichi died! As you can see she did lots of things. The only mentions of the Ino Sai pairing that we got in the series were in the arc when Sai was first introduced and in chapter 700. Tsunade is another example. She became hokage and fulfilled many important roles as a kage. She seldomly mentioned or thought about Dan Kato. Lots of other females (Tenten, Kurotsuchi, Mei, etc...) went on to do their own things such as becoming kages or owning shops.

Therefore, if you say that all the females are just pairing fodder then you don't know what the heck you are talking about!

She is pairing fodder. What is the misconception here?
Name one female character Kishimoto created since the beginning of Naruto, and ended up as a respective female on par with her peers.

The overall point of the thread is correct but she probably isn't going to unlock it ,i mean after all women in NV are never relevant enough to compete with male characters .

Tsunade ^

Tsunade never had little to none development (Besides accepting Naruto and other side character stuff). She was already a grown ass woman + The story doesn't revolve around her at all. That's like saying Jiraiya was developed more .-. besides the flash backs and seeing him occasionally.

You didn't even read the thread did you? I listed several females: Kaguya, Ino, Tsunade, Mei, Konan, Kurotsuchi, Temari, etc...
Here are some feats:

Ino: Saving Naruto's group from a juubi bijuudama, helping seal Kinkaku, helping beat edo Asuma, acting as a communication system for the alliance.

Tsunade: Healing countless people, becoming hokage, making an excellent decision as hokage to send Naruto to turtle island so he could be trained by Bee, saving the 5 kages after Madara brutally messed them up, etc...

Kurotsuchi: Becoming tuschikage

Temari: Being a chunin exam proctor, being an escort to the kazekage, being somewhat of a general in the war, etc...

The list goes on and on.

You are misunderstanding the question. I'm talking about development, as in throughout it's entirely. Bringing up a view points is not development.

Ino: These are all power based, nor did we see her train for these.
Tsunade: That Tsunade is the same Tsunade from Part one, except she has taken her job seriously now and is less afraid of blood. She had tidbits of development here and there in part one, but nothing in Part two that makes her a revolving character to the story other than being the Hokage.
Kurotsuchi: Again not development, just another point.
Temari: Not impressive, her father and brother have been the Kazekage's, and that is a nice feat. However we know nothing about Temari personally that would make her eligible to be a war general.

See what I'm getting at?

She will be the freaking deutertagonist! Sorry to sound so angry, but think about it people! Sarada won't just be a side character like most of the females. She will most likely be Bolt's Sasuke! Heck, she is even announced to appear in the Bolt movie and Himawari (Bolt's sister) hasn't even been announced! That should tell you something!

Yeah, sure Jiraiya was a pervy old man who gave up on his former comrade Orochimaru after he turned bad but still held on to the belief that thered be true peace. Sure he later found out that one of his students would be the child of prophecy and had hope in each and every single one but he wasnt developed. Oh, wait...

See what I'm getting at?

I see what you are getting at, but if you are going by that logic then you don't even have a logical basis to use to judge the females. You seem to only be looking at main female characters and there are really only 2 of those (Sakura and Hinata). Even Sakura actually had plenty of development that didn't revolve around Sasuke (such as her desire to not be behind her team mates). Besides, 2 females (one of whom was really still a side character until the most recent movie anyway) is not enough to judge all females as being meant for pairings! Basically, all you have is one female to go by (Sakura). Therefore, you can really only say that Sakura is pairing fodder (and even she is more than that). Sakura is not the whole female race!

By the way, you said that my points pertained to power which is not what you were getting at, but my thread was talking about sharingan which does pertain to power.

She might get the sharingan but if she was to get MS it would be ridiculous. I don't see her getting it in a mini series because there isn't enough time for that. If she does it will mean she has suffered a lot for sure and would be on the path of darkness which would just be a poorly written parallel of Naruto Shippuden and if Kishi does that it will prove he's brain dead.

I think and hope that neither of the kids will surpass the part one characters of Naruto.

Well Hinata is not a main character, she is on the same boat as Ino.

Next you are correct. I'm using my logical basis on Sakura alone, because she was the developing factor throughout Part 1 AND Part 2. Just because she is the Uchiha daughter of Sasuke does not coexist with the consistencies of how Kishimoto develops his female characters. She was already shown stalking Boruto Uzumaki, and to make matters worse she mentioned to her mother it wasn't the first time. Not bringing up the glasses bit as that is irrelevant, doesn't change the fact that she could activate her Sharingan.

She might be more of Sakura in terms of character. She took her catch phrase "SHANAROOOOOOOOO" and she dresses like a schoolgirl. Which Sakura was portrayed as a scholar, rather than a strategist like Shikamaru or Sasuke.

From my understanding of how she will be developed, it is still unquestioned. Though, it is not looking good.

My fear is that Sarada will only be a plot device to showcase Bolt's strength. She'll get kidnapped and blah blah blah. I hope that's not how it goes, but Kishi did a terrible job with Sakura in Part 2, so I'm not expecting anything better.

For your second point regarding when/what caused Madara to awaken the sharingan, was it actually shown before Madara told Hashi that he couldn't be friends with him anymore? I always thought it was the loss of Hashi's friendship and their dream that caused it to awaken.

People do tend to over exaggerate and say all females are pairing fodders in the series, when only two were downgraded to that level, the rest were okay written but poorly developed like any other character besides Sasuke and Naruto, plus Salada is like 9 or 10 :|

People also tend to forget salada is a Uchiha, Kishi writes them the best, her being a female won't change anything U_U

While I do agree that Sarada's personality seems to resemble Sakura's thus far, you must consider some facts:
Sarada called Bolt an idiot. Now this may not seem like much, but those "boys are idiots" type girls are usually the type to be abrasive around the ones they like instead of showing their true feelings. In other words, Sarada will probably end up showing aggression or annoyance towards Bolt and the two will start some semblance of a rivalry. It may not be the next Indra/Ashura rivalry, but it will probably be at least enough for the two to fight and have a part 1 Naruto part 1 Sasuke type relationship (such as the two always competing or Sasuke calling Naruto usuratonkachi). Besides, Bolt is obviously a parallel of Naruto thus far. Where there is a Naruto, there needs to be a Sasuke. If not Sarada, then who else? Lee's kid? Shikadai?

My fear is that Sarada will only be a plot device to showcase Bolt's strength. She'll get kidnapped and blah blah blah. I hope that's not how it goes, but Kishi did a terrible job with Sakura in Part 2, so I'm not expecting anything better.

Like I said, every Naruto needs a Sasuke. I doubt Sarada will just be a damsel in distress. As for your question about Madara, what happened was this:

Butsuma and Tajima threw the kunais at Izuna and Tobirama respectively. Hashirama and Madara deflected them with stones. Madara then said: "I can't forgive anyone who tries to hurt my brother."

Tajima: "3 on 3. Can you handle that Madara?"
Madara: "No Hashirama is stronger than I am."
Izuna: "Woah, someone stronger than big bro"
Tajima: "I see, I had no idea he was so strong."
Madara: I had fun Hashirama, but the fact is you're a Senju and I am Uchiha Madara! (awakens sharingan)

It went something like that. Everything is not exactly word for word and every exact detail is not there, but this is the gist of it.

Do people seriously think Kishi wont give Lord Sasuke's (the 2nd most important character) child Sharingan. The mini series will have fighting and Sarada is the daughter of the Indra incarnate

I agree. The Sage brought peace to the world so how did Indra awaken Sharingan with no one to fight Lol And her vision will get better I believe.
