Bored as hell, so I thought I'd just write a short little thing on what I thought on the movie, since I came back from watching it a few hours ago.

Warning: There will be a few spoilers in this, and this little review will have me explaining parts of the plot, so if you don't want the movie to be spoiled for you, don't read this. I'll make a spoiler-free version (basically a summary of my thoughts as well) for those who don't want spoilers. Anyway, onto my thoughts about it.

Going into this movie, I didn't really expect that much of it. My initial thoughts were that it would be another mediocre action movie with a bit of romance between Naruto and Hinata. There is indeed a lot of focus on the NaruHina relationship and interactions. However, I think that it is fair to say that my expectations were surpassed while I watched this. The action was fun, it was a visual spectacle as expected. I found myself quite enjoying the fight scene between Naruto and Toneri on the moon. Overall, the visuals were nice to look at (it's a nice change of pace from the usual standards of the Naruto anime) and the fights were well done. I think everyone will like the small reference to one of Naruto's Part I fights that is seen in the final conflict on the moon.

The soundtrack was alright. There were times when I thought the music fit, and others where it just bored me a bit and didn't really add anything to the atmosphere of the scene. Most of the times where I thought the music was good was when the story was taking place in Konoha, the NaruHina moments, and the final fight scene with Naruto and Toneri. The times where I thought it lacked was during some of the scenes inside Toneri's palace, and a few others scenes I can't care to remember. The music I disliked was named Moonset, you can find a video on YouTube that has the entire soundtrack, but I will stick the video below. The music I most enjoyed listening to was the Part I music that played when Naruto and Toneri fought on the moon, which is named "The Last", and the music that played during the credits.

The story was...decent, to say the least. It wasn't really anything special in my opinion. Toneri wants to send the moon crashing into the earth because the people of earth were misusing chakra. From there, he wants to rebuild the world with Hinata as his wife. As per usual, Naruto won't allow that. And by extension...neither will Sasuke. There weren't that many twists, since the story was mainly focused on Naruto and Hinata's relationship and exploring the times they shared in the past in addition to the plot with Toneri. There were a few times where I did enjoy seeing the interaction between Naruto and Hinata, though that was before the latter half of the movie when Hinata gets taken by Toneri, with the exception of the kiss scene and the credits stuff. After that, it was just a bit more of a filler romance element just to fill up for a bit of the movie. I don't really have any problems with that, though I wouldn't have problems with that being taken out after the second half (with the exception of the kiss scene, which was needed). The movie certainly had it's moments, particularly with the comedy and the final fight. The humour in this movie was great, it got me laughing at all the times jokes were made, and even a few times jokes weren't made and humour wasn't intended at all.

The characters that made appearances were actually more limited than I had first imagined. Initially, I thought that most of the Konoha 11 would help Naruto stop Toneri, but that wasn't the case. Basically, the main characters of this movie are Naruto, Sakura, Sai, Shikamaru, Hinata and Toneri. The rest are completely tossed aside (with the exception of Kakashi and Sasuke) or are just plot devices (Hanabi and maybe Hinata). Sasuke does appear a few times in the movie, and as expected, he only had one line of dialogue. His appearances were all small ones, but I enjoyed them all, since he's my favourite.

Now onto the gripes I had with the movie. Some are minor, others are a little bigger. The first thing I'm going to talk about is...inb4 I get flamed...Sakura's role in the movie. I'm disappointed at what Sakura did in this movie, which was basically jackshit. Granted, she did look cool in the fights she had, but she didn't make a big impact on the story, or at least one that was acceptable. I really wanted her to shine in this movie and do tons of cool shit, but she didn't. And that's saddening. The same can be said for Sai and Shikamaru. While they did do a little more than Sakura, they did next to nothing as well. I'm probably gonna get comments like "what were you expecting from them in a movie about Naruto and Hinata?", and before I get shit like that, let me tell you that just because this is a movie about the romance between Naruto and Hinata, that isn't an excuse to drop the ball with it's other main characters, or even side characters. Anyway, onto my next point. Toneri's goal seems pretty simple, right? Destroy the evil people for using our gifts (since he's from the Otsutsuki clan) for evil purposes. Well, it seems like an understandable motive...until we found out that this idiot was fed false information about his own goddamn family somehow. I'm not gonna go too in-depth with this part, since this will f*ck the entire movie up for you readers.

Here are a few small things I found in the movie that were worthy of note. One, Sasuke appears for exactly 58 seconds. Not as short as people were led to believe, since he appears a total of 3-4, maybe even 5 times in this film. Two, there is a post credits scene where it shows Naruto with his family; Hinata, Bolt and Himawari. Three, Kumogakure should've been the strongest village there was ever. At least after the death of Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara, since they've got a massive gun that blows shit up, big time. Four, ninja can breathe in f*cking space. When you thought that Madara pulling Susano'o out of his ass without any Sharingan was bad enough, you get ninja breathing in space without any system that provides them with air. Five, the colour of Naruto's Rasengan and any other variation of the technique is either orange or blue, and changes whenever the f*ck it wants. Six, Naruto did indeed lose access to his Rikudo Sage Mode, but he did not lose access to Bijuu Sage Mode. Also, Naruto demonstrated the feat of being able to remotely control Kurama's Bijuu Avatar from another location.

Overall, this was an enjoyable movie for me. The movie has it's moments, and tends to be stronger during the romance and fight scenes. Everything else is just stuff to advance the plot. This movie is very NaruHina based, so don't expect anything much other than the fight scenes and Sasuke's cameos. The crowd went absolutely mental at Naruto's confession and some of the other romance parts and the Sasuke appearances. If I were to rate it on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 6.5/10. It's not a bad movie, it really isn't. However, it's not anything amazing. Would I watch it again? Probably, but not because it's a great movie. Would I recommend it to others to watch? I guess so. Don't expect a masterpiece, just go into the movie and watch it for what it is, not what it could be. You'll have a fun time watching it.

Hey can you analyze each appearance of Hashirama no matter how small and tell me the symbolic and sexy factor it had, thanks.

Who is stronger? Toneri or 3 Eyes JJ Maddie?
3 eye Shinju JJ madara is featless and tornei not that strong yea he cut the moon in half and had the power to destroy earth at the end of the fight he pulled a vegeta but madara with Shinju and Juubi is far far far beyond him naruto only used kcm to beat tornei bjiuu mode nor senjustu of six paths was not even needed

10/10 review.

Pretty much agree with everything. Though, I was more impressed with Sakura's actions throughout the movie. I usually dislike her character but there is something about this movie that I can't seem to hate about her. Thought she played more of an active role as a support character in the battlefield (saved Naruto's life, killed some enemies, etc...) and off it (helped Hinata confront her weakness of shyness). Plus, she was a great comedic character at times. Sakura? Comedy? Those two don't usually go together.

I cannot make that comparison. Too many factors and other things, as well as me being bored as f*ck right now.

Bijuu Mode was indeed used. Naruto had to tap into the use of Bijuu Sage Mode, otherwise he was gonna get f*cked up really badly.

I'm not a big fan of Sakura, but I really wanted this movie to portray her in a very positive light. The potential was there, they missed most of it in my eyes. Though I agree with what you said.

Thank you for the insight. At least, you took the time to give a genuine review unlike a few others on this site who shit on it even if they haven't seen it :)

I can't wait to see it. Unfortunately (well it was my fault), I got the movie spoiled for me so I kinda know everything that happens but I still want to see it in action :)

funny it's the highest rating naruto movie with a rating of 8.1/10

and that ranking is really high for movies.
You're right.Avatar(2009) which is one of the best movies ever(imo) is only 7.9/10 and to think naruto would be rated higher

OT:Great review mate. But is kishi ever gonna explain how the fvck can they breath in space?

Didn't read because I don't want to be spoiled but is it better than Road to Ninja? Because I liked Road to Ninja a lot.
I personally like RtN more than The Last simply because it had more emotional-depth. If you're a NH fan then you will probably enjoy The Last more.

Off-topic: Those cosplayers at the theatre tho...

No worries, thanks for reading.

That sucks. Even though you were spoiled, I think you may still enjoy it.

I doubt we'll ever get an explanation.

So how exactly did naruto lose rsm?
During the movie, Toneri sapped most of his chakra, so he was left with some of his own chakra and Kurama's chakra. I'm going out on a limb here, but I assume that the chakra of the other Bijuu within him was sapped as well.

lmao, I saw them too. I saw a Kisame cosplayer that looked like he hadn't come out of a torture dungeon in years.

thx you for your review and that's nice you've like it!!!

and about Sakura, even haters said they hate her less in this movie because she's at her right place finally (a side character supporting the mains and not a fake main doing crap or nothing) and acting like a decent person (helping, being nice, no passive aggressive behaviors, funny, useful when required etc).

Kishimoto should have done this too in the manga but well it was not his choice only, blame his editors...

Heh, I kinda asked for it by entering a thread that said "Entire plot of the movie" lol

But heh, it's all good. The plot made me wanna see it even more and your review reinforced that ^^

Despite Sakura's role in the movie, I still wish they did her justice. But it doesn't matter, I'll settle with what she got in The Last. Overall though, Sakura's acts in the movie don't weigh on my opinion in an overly negative way, I just thought it was something a little unfortunate.

Oh, shit. It was my thread then. Sorry...

Probably because the moon was pulled into the Earth's atmosphere. Another reason would be that since their powers are on demi god level tier, they can bypass human limits.

OT: Great Review. Now, I really want to watch this movie.
