Obito has the greater willpower definitely. In all likelihood in Madara's case, Kaguya's will (BZ) resonated with herself (the Shinju within Madara) and BZ stabbing Madara was basically like unlocking the key to bring Kaguya out and use Madara as a host.

The Juubi is Kaguya. The Juubi/Shinju can think. Kaguya wanted Madara to advance her plans as much as possible before taking control. So the Juubi didn't resist Madara. Simple stuff.
