Jurassic World Movie

I heard the new installment of Jurassic Park is coming out soon.

I personally am not that excited because Dr.Grant and Dr. Malcom are not in the new movie.

What do you guys think?

i think its gonna be shit. you know what made the first jurassic park so special? the fact the dinosaurs were physically there. not some CGI bullcrap....but very difficult and awesome robots/suits and effects etc....

but the trailer for this one was just filled with CGI.... just looks like another average hollywood movie.. no Dr. Grant or Malcom sucks too.... and they crossed dinaosaurs with humans? wtf? at least back then the movies made sense... dinasaurs are awesome in their own way...they dont have to be improved and upgraded in order to be scary.....

ima watch the movie obviously, but im pretty sure ill just be disappointed....

Who knows, they might make a cameo appearance but honestly, I'm excited to see it. I really don't care if it's' good or bad but I'm more interested to seeing how they made that park after all the tragic events that have taken place and I'm really interested in seeing how the parks going to be at the end of the movie.

thats the point. there were cgi effects indeed...but the biggest part was always robots/suits/physical objects etc....go watch the making of of jurassic park...

actually no.... i mean sure cgi has improved a lot. but its something different when you have an actual object there instead of a greenscreen.... my opinion though. sometimes its good to have cgi, especially if you wanna add details etc.. but when everything is just cgi, the movei just isnt alive imo...

Uhm... the reason why JP became a milestone in cinematic history was because of its special effects, which where groundbreaking at the time. Yeah they used robots, but that's the case for a lot of movies. It's rarely completely based on SGI, there's always a combination of the two. These days of course CGI has reached a point they don't need large-sized robots anymore all the time, but it's also not that people just sit weeks behind their PC creating everything without using real life stuff.

It still doesn't make sense though that you are going on about how crappy CGI is supposed to be and that JP was so great because they used robots while that movie's most prominent achievement was...their special effects. It's that last aspect that made the movie industry reach a new level.

I don't know much about the making of, but common sense wise they would have just used the robots for close up interactions with the actors in quite 'static' situations. Even in the Two Towers they made a robotic version of Treebeard when Merry and Pippin were sitting on his shoulders simply for their close-ups with each other and Treebeard.

i am well aware of the fact they used cgi back then too. btw lord of the rings was also over 10 years ago, just saying
my point is, just compare movies like the newer star wars to the older ones. compare terminator 2 to terminator 3..... compare jurassic park to the trailer weve seen now hell compare the hobbit to lord of the rings! all the orcs looked horrible in the hobbit, because of the amount of cgi they used, while in the lord of the rings they were totally legit...... even with far better cgi the movie doesnt feel alive when its not done right...im afraid the same will happen to jurassic world...youll see
