It REALLY depends on what you're into as to whether or not Naruto is enjoyable. Most people will find all the way up to the end of the first arc to be really boring, I didn't actually start enjoying anything until the Chunin exam arc started and the introduction of Orochimaru.
As far as whether it's worth watching...in my personal opinion unless you're really into long monologues about friendship and pain, a choppy storyline by a writer who clearly had no idea which direction he wanted to go with the story right up the final battle scenes, the sidelining of all the characters you grew to love and thought were badass for their crazy tactics and skills in favor of human nuclear bombs, a merciless slew of "villains" who are actually good guys who are going about it the wrong way and have major god complexes with one exception who gets sidelined and fodderized, and the complete disregard for everything you thought governed this fantasy world (chakra and the ability to control chakra basically mean nothing once the final arc starts)...then this is the anime for you.
If you aren't into those things spare yourself and use your time more wisely.
