This post gave me a respection. Why is Sasuke such a good character? Because he doesn't follow the normal. He acts on what he feels is right.
Surely if you have been reading this manga since chapter 3, you would know that Sasuke has always had this mysterious aura floating around him. Everytime you see Sasuke, you wonder what he's going to do next. It is not a simple little math equation when it comes to this magnificent creation. You can't figure him out, and when you do figure him out, he is already deciding to do something completely different.
Many people like to complain about him having different mood swings and changing his goals frequently. Well I got news for you haters, without the sudden change in plot, this manga would be boring as hell, and that is obvious. Even the die hard Sasuke haters can't deny this. Without Sasuke's impact at all, this manga would be sub-par at best. I recall Naruto wasting most of his time in Shippuden, chasing after Sasuke and screaming about Sasuke, so as much as you die hard Naruto fapboys like to assume that this manga would still be the same without Sasuke, you are just shooting yourself in the foot, and trying to cover up the fact that Sasuke is the reason that this manga moves at all.
More kicks are from his personality of course, but this is not just about him acting cool and distant. Sasuke has that anti-hero theme to him, and it makes him only care about things when it influences his life, so some might call that selfish, but it can also just mean pure. Sasuke knows what dispair is, and if someone hurts the ones that he cared for, he will dispose of them.
Sasuke is also not a moron and he doesn't care for petty things like love and romance. He cares for shit that actually matters in the ninja world, like trying to stop Kaguya and traveling the world to prevent future endeavors for fulfilling peac. Naruto protects from inside the village, while Sasuke protects from outside the village.
You don't have to like Sasuke if you don't want to, but saying that he has no development or saying that he has negative development is when you need to re-read this whole manga from chapter 3.
EDIT: Also, for the moron that wants to scream asspulls, that's pretty typical of an Itachi fanboy to get angry when he's just mad that Sasuke was part of Itachi's death.
Lol, thanks. Sasuke is probably the only person where I can write a whole page, just about his hair. This post gave me a respection.
I agree with this, Sasuke flipped goals alot, but i rather have a character like that, then one that stays the same throughout the series, not necessarily saying that that's a bad thing, but i just don't find that interesting. For me he was always more interesting than any other character, but that doesn't mean that I think of him as the best character.
He was well written. I found it sometimes a little bit difficult to figure out his thoughts, 'cause he was more focused on his goals rather than thinking about idk...his former team mates? His future?
Naruto on the opposite stayed pretty much the same til the end, but that's my opinion tho
omg this was too funnySorry I forget logic

Eden with the solo, nice post
OT.aah sasuke uchiha, whats so great about him huh? i could write a full on essay but its best to shorten it
hes development is intriguing, starting from hes background. the varous changes hes made throughout the series based on new facts and events that have come on is something to admire. i loved hes rage at danzo and towards konoha, from hes face you could tell that this is someone who has had enough of that villages bullshit .hes next course of action is always dictated by the current set of fact before him, the way he gives hes all to achieve hes goal, an avenger to anger towards the village to wanting to protect it in hes own way(revolution), showing extreme dynamism. not to mention hes unpredictable nature which leaves you guessing, at times you dont know what hes thinking and he has this air of mysteriousness about him which makes you so keen on he plans on doing. not to mention most times at face value he isnt always what he presents himself, what he revealed towards naruto in that final fight was not something one would have thought of considering the way the way sasuke acted majority of part 2 in which he was prepared to shut down naruto and the others attempts at bringing him back. wanting to erasse the bonds and all. not to mention hes actions which always tends to drive the plot. not even mentioning hes fights here as literally all were epic, they are just icing on the cake.
Three of the finest ans about sasuke's charThat's NB for you, forever ignorant. Sasuke is a true gem in this manga that is overrun with tropes and cliches. One even has to touch upon tragedies to grasp his character, so I am not even surprised. Sasuke encompasses two Tragedy Conventions - Modern and Classical. From the Classical view point, everything leading up to his decision to seek vengeance fall in line with the Tradition of Greek tragedies. Hamartia, anagnorisis, peripeteia and then the repercussions on his psyche on killing Danzo - the height of narration this manga ever reached, when Sasuke was driven mad by revelation. That was fantastic.
Though Sasuke's revenge is quite intense like Medea's, he's also modern in regards to his military tactics and resolute obsession to get flesh for flesh as his own developed ideology, separate from Konoha's politics. That makes him a very liberal character for me, someone who always strove to go beyond the verges of the system and didn't let it fetter his neck like his older brother.
Like I said, one has to read Tragedies to even understand Sasuke. Albeit Hamlet is not a tragedy - given as Shakespeare's works were always termed as Tragi-comedies - but Sasuke does share a lot with Hamlet as well. The only difference being that Hamlet went through with revenge and Sasuke pondered over it.
This manga is far too bland and banal and poor for characters like Sasuke. Far too poor.
