If you haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow or Boyhood I recommend watching those. I prefer Edge of Tomorrow over Boyhood even though Boyhood was a decent movie it doesn't exactly depict my life. In certain aspects it does. It's just the moral of the story was how hard life can be and how fast growing up can be.

I hear so much about Tom Cruise being a complete train wreck but really, he's not bad of an actor IMO.

Thoughts?

Edge of Tomorrow is good because it is based on a good japanese novel

Boyhood is a pretty good movie but doesn't really have a plot and absolutely no conflicts(maybe expect the conflicts in their mother's life)

8/10 for both movies

Boyhood has a couple conflicts.
When Mason and his family moves in with the professor that his mom married... He turns into a complete drunk.
Or when Mason's mom buys that house towards the end of the movie and she marries the war veteran, he also turns into a drunk.

Ive recently just seen edge of tomorrow and i agree, its a really good film. But just yesterday i went to go watch Unbroken, its a film directed by Angelina Jolie and its pretty good, based around a war veteran and Olympic athlete named Louis (forgot his last name) and what he goes through in the war against Japan. Its shows a lot of what soldiers went through and the risk they had to take. Cool thing about the movie was the flashbacks he had mixed with the present time in the movie! Dont wanna say anymore or else it would be a spoil, but anyways i definitely recommend that movie as well! :D

Edge of Tomorrow was amazing but after seeing Boyhood I have to say that I enjoyed it much more. Not only was it an impressive accomplishment filming for over 12 years but it also depicted an entire boys life in a way that no other film has ever done. Was a lot I could relate to in Boyhood even though Mason was on a different pathway career wise but anyways that it was the best movie of 2014.

They're still conflicts, and yes, in a way they did. Because he had to continuously move on, from when he left the professors house he had to leave the kids he was living with which were good friends to him.
