Bryan never said that there wasn't going to be anymore Avatar. He specifically said it in an interview
It would be weird to jump into a new series very soon here and also, they stated that they want to take a break, but in the near future a new series will arise.
Personally, I want to see more Korra. She defiantly will live to see the modern 50's and possibly the modern 80's.
