The 6th Great Ninja War
Chapter IV: The Blade Call
Roku rushed en route to the ?call station?, speeding by a few travelers, much to their dismay. As one traveler approached Roku, he stopped running suddenly and leaped meters above the traveler, who stopped in their tracks to marvel at the height of the jump. Roku landed behind the traveler and kept running.
Roku: Sorry! o_o *looks forward* I?ve gotta make it in time?
BACK AT THE RESORT
Everyone was prepared to depart and head north, except for Goro, who was setting his weapons in his pouches.
Hiruzen: Hurry up, Goro!
Goro: Dammit, hold on!
Goro finished packing his weapons.
Goro: Alright. Let?s get going.
Kiwii: Yeah O_O
Ace: Wait! Before we leave, Captain Roku gave me this?*takes out a scroll*
Kiwii: What is it? O-o
Hiruzen: Obviously, a scroll. But, what?s it do O_O
Ace: I don?t know. That?we?re about to find out! O_O
Ace hesitated as he prepared to open the scroll, and then he unraveled it, setting it on the ground quickly as he did. He read the Kanji written in the center of the scroll.
Ace: Monkey?
Hiruzen: That?s strange. What could ?monkey? mean? Like Bsama?s monkeys?
Goro: *shrugs* Who knows?
The Kanji began to glow and then it steamed, emitting a great amount of heat and, soon enough, smoke. Everyone started coughing as the never-ending generation of smoke continued, expanding to the size of the room. The attendants hurried for the fire extinguishers and everyone began to panic, and then the smoke ended abruptly and began to clear. Parts of a figure could be seen as the smoke was clearing: a fury ear, a nose twitching, and then?a tail! The smoke finally cleared up. On the center of the scroll, where the Kanji used to be inscribed, stood a 3 ? feet tall monkey with fur as white as snow. He was somewhat elderly. Though he didn?t look gruelingly old, one could tell that he?d lived through his share of lifetimes. The monkey yawned and gasped when he saw the four ninja.
???: Who the hell are you all?! O_O
Ace: A monkey?!
Kiwii:
Whaaaaaa?!
Goro: Yoshino-san!!!!!
Hiruzen: Who?
Yoshino: *looks at Goro* Oh?you.
Roku wants me to babysit again, huh? Why I outta give him a piece of my mind for letting a bunch of brats like you all summon me.
Ace: Hey? Who?re you calling a brat? The four of us here are elite ninja, listed in the Bingo Book. Roku told us to summon you so you could lead us to a northern Kiyoshi settlement.
Yoshino let out a sigh, and when he sighed, steam was released from his mouth casually, as if it were normal.
Yoshino: What a pain. *starts walking* Follow me, please.
Goro: Guys, this is Yoshino-san. He?s one of Roku?s personal summons from Mount Fang. The only monkey there o_o. He?s the keeper of records and the one that taught me fire. I?ve got a deep respect for him, but he?s tough and very harsh.
Hiruzen: *whispers* Is this guy really that much of a big-shot? -.o
Goro: Sorta?
Kiwii: Well, I?m surely not taking orders from some stupid ape *crosses arms* U_U
Yoshino stopped in his tracks and his right eye twitched.
Yoshino: a?.a?..ape?
Kiwii: Huh?
What? -.-
Yoshino?s tail flailed uncontrollably and his eyes literally exploded into small, smoldering flames. He turned to Kiwii and his facial expression became extremely sour. The counter behind Kiwii suddenly ignited and crumbled to ashes. The walls began to melt. Kiwii was sweating more than ever before. His eyes filled with fear. The whole world was engulfed in fire, and then, Yoshino?s eyes returned to normal. The walls returned and the world was not engulfed in fire. It was simply an instant Genjutsu, from the looks of it. Kiwii looked down, his eyes still stricken and dilated with horror. Parts of the walls, however, were burnt, much to everyone else?s surprise.
Yoshino: *glares at Kiwii* Look, kid, I may not look like much, but I would destroy you on a moment?s notice if it weren?t for my oath to protection. I?ve been around in this world since before your grandparents were in their mothers? wombs. So, let?s make one thing clear. I lead, and you all follow without question. When we reach the settlement, you will be free of me and can do whatever the hell you want. But as long as I?m here, you do exactly as I say. I don?t care if Roku lets your all run about wildly. This is how I do things. If you don?t like it, I will kindly show each of you the extent of my impatience. Do I make myself clear?
Everyone: ._. yes, sir?
Yoshino: Good. Now let?s get going.
AT THE CALL STATION
Roku: Why do I have a feeling that Yoshino?s giving them all a hard time
He never was good with people, that old fart. *smirks*
Roku shifted a few gears on the call station, which was simply a cylindrical booth with ancient markings all around it. The symbols suddenly began to glow light blue and revealed a secret compartment in the booth, which had a seal written on it: the Kanji for ?1?. Roku performed five quick hand seals and contacted someone.
Bishamon (Voice): Roku? What?s the meaning of this?
Roku: Bisha, have you heard of the recent Mist Village activity?
Bishamon: No?what of it?
Roku: They?ve sent five Swordsmen to kill the Kazekage and end negotiations between the Leaf and Sand and other villages. Also, Wrath and Kaito betrayed the Leaf. I?m worried that Rei may be in danger.
Bishamon: Five, you said? What of the other two?
Roku: That?s the thing. Apparently, they had a few targets in mind, from what I?ve put together from the note that I received from?
Bishamon: Wait! They attacked the Kazekage?and Wrath and Kaito betrayed the Leaf. But they were headed for Sunagakure, which means that they must be part of the Seven Swordsmen in secret alliance. If their targets include the Kazekage and, presumably, Rei, then they?re going after the people who would make the most difference in preventing the war. Which means?
Roku: You, and I are likely on the list too. I?m guessing that they?re sending the other Swordsmen to assassinate us.
Bishamon: I guess it?s well past time for a meeting, then. I will activate the call.
Roku: Okay. Since I have a team with me, I?ll likely have to bring them along.
Bishamon: Very well.
Roku: This seal is running out of time. Stay alert, Bsama, and make sure to notify everyone.
BACK AT THE HOTSPRING
Yoshino: Let us get a move on, young ones.
Everyone: Yeah, yeah ~_~
And once again, the team was off. They walked for about 10 minutes before seeing a sign that read ?Kiyoshi Settlement 5?3 miles North?.
Yoshino: We?re close.
Yoshino stopped the group. He sniffed the air suspiciously, and then he looked around. Goro pulled out his kunai.
Yoshino: Two?one is hiding his/her chakra quite well.
Someone suddenly ran out from behind a bush wildly. He had black spiky hair that was shoulder-length and wore a white shirt with black pants and the standard ninja sandals.
TCS: My name is T~Chidori~Sasuke! And I?m gonna take you guys out!
Kiwii:
is he alright?
Goro: I don?t think so -.-
TCS ran at Kiwii with his sword drawn and attacked him with a sideways sweep, but Kiwii caught the blade with his bare hands and threw TCS aside.
Kiwii: What the hell kind of blade is this? It?s not even sharp? O_O
TCS: Sensei, I told you that this blade wouldn?t work!!!! >.<
Bugs excreted from Kiwii's hands and surrounded TCS, rendering him useless. Suddenly, a sharp blade of chakra approached Goro?s neck from behind, but was immediately sliced in half before it could kill him. Standing behind Goro, over 20 feet away, was a Swordsman of the Mist, who was actually a grown woman, in her late 20s. She was wearing a large jacket extending to her knees with the standard ANBU clothing of the Hidden Mist under it. In her hand was a very large broadsword-like katana with a black hilt and rigid silver and white blade. It was easily the largest blade out of all swords in possession by the other Seven Swordsmen.
Kiwii: O_O Goro! Are you okay?
Goro: I'm fine o_o
TCS: @_@ sensei?
???: Stupid! That?s what you get for following me and attacking when you weren?t supposed to. *looks to Goro* Forgive me for my foolish student?s actions. Allow me to formally introduce myself. *bows* Izure? One of the Mist Village?s Seven Swordsmen and wielder of the Spirit Reaper. Now, who was it that stopped my attack?
3 knives were suddenly hurled at Izure, who blocked each with her sword. She looked toward where the knives came and saw a young man wearing a sleeveless green shirt, black pants and a green sash around his waist. He had dark blonde hair which appeared green due to the angle of light and wielded three blades, two in each hand and one in his mouth, and several other blades on his back. He was standing on a tree branch about 50 feet in the air, and then he stepped down, falling calmly and landing weightlessly. With his arms outstretched and him landing in a position where his body was crouched widely, his swords in each hand were seen to be at least 4 feet long.
???: Looks like I came just in time. I see Sir Roku isn?t here. Well, that?s okay. At least this way, I can let loose and have fun.
Izure: *glares* Who are you, sword-eating freak? -.O
???: And?ril Roronoa Zoro, but you can just call me?Caliburn *smirks*
