Basically yes, a Rolex is much more useful than a cheap $5 watch.

I was able to make a profit from luxury watches because they go up in value. Worse case, they retain their value, depending on condition.

When it came time to sell, I made my money back and then more.

I got to wear my watches for free.

What about a cheap watch? It depreciates and becomes worthless very quick.

The power of brand my friends.

Why make a second thread about such an insignificant accessoire Lol

Other than the precious metals they use to forge those rolex watches, they're practically worthless..better said, obsolete.

Cell phones > watches

Nope, luxury items go up in price because 1) the brand increases the price themselves 2) rich people are always willing to by an iconic timepiece since they are luxury and rich people naturally like to brag

Cellphones become worthless after a few years.

Rolexs retain their value regardless if there is precious metal or not. But yes, gold rolexes, like the one I have, retain their value even more.

So your goal all along was to show off your watch? Lol

And what I meant is, it only has one function, which a cellphone has too, better yet xd with any timezone on earth. with that widget.

So, it's obsolete. period.

I'm not much of a watch person but... I have a submariner for casual-smart and a Breitling Chronomat for smart-smart, the latter was a 16th present though.

Yes, that is one of the purposes of luxury fashion, exclusivity. Also, I like something aesthetic to look at whenever I need to check the time.

Ok but a watch retains its value as a collectors item and even grows in value. Phones break and is worth nothing.

A nice watch garners respect among peers. A smartphone does not.

I love the Submariner. One of my all time favs. Simple yet elegant.

The Chronomat is visual overload for me personally.

A digital watch is all I need. Forget what you say but G-shock>anything else. I've had 2 for the past 4 years and it's brand new condition.
