I believe this explains why Itachi has yin and yang. His Amaterasu eye is yang and his tsukuyomi eye is yin. shisui's kaleidoscope sharingan only has KA which explains why he only has yin

All uchiha's have yin fragments, itachi has yang fragments from Crow clones.

Thus why he has both yin element and yang element

Rinnegan = Yin and Yang, Even Nagato had it

Nagato mastered yin and yang himself, the rinnegan only grants one the ability to master all elements easily but it doesn't automatically grant mastery or use of said elements.
