Who wiped Uzumaki clan and why?

It is indeed suspicious that Hashirama didn't even have a short memory of his wife when the Uzumaki clan was mentioned right in front of him by Tobirama, while Madara, on the other hand, did. Lol


As for the reason as to why they were wiped out; I think they were feared for their sealing abilities (as was stated in the manga). No clue about who did it tho, It is just another unresolved mystery in this manga that will remain as such.

When he was in the process of creating edo tensei he saw the Uzumaki as an obstacle to what he deemed the perfect jutsu. He knew they were proficient in sealing techniques and he saw that as the one weakness to edo tensei so he blitzed them.

The Uzumaki was a ass pull clan to get Naruto relate to Ashura somehow to let Kishi write the Indra/Ashura storyline, otherwise Kishi should have introduced them earlier in the series and explained the clan in further detail if they were that noble and known

And what doesn't make the most sense is Naruto having the surname Uzumaki, if the clan was so feared doesn't it make Naruto a target when he was younger? Why didn't no one react to Naruto's surname being Uzumaki? Karin and Nagato kept their names hidden while Naruto spite out his all the time

Would have been better if Naruto revealed his surname the same time the clan was introduced U_U

Could be Madara, he knew about curse seals and also about their origins/heritage :| Also, if Uchiha clan were driven to extinction then the Uzumaki must have also been pretty damn strong to be so feared.
