One cannot hope to control the speed, flow, quantity and power of the chakra racing through someone in 7th/8th gate. It's impossible. Tsukuyomi doesn't work seeing as gai doesn't even need to look at itachi's eyes/fingers.


Amaterasu?

This is not a problem at all, seeing as any repulsive push can neg diff it. Gai in 6th gate was able to split a river apart with his chakra alone

. If Amaterasu lands before he enters gate mode, all Gai has to do is enter 6th gate mode before any real damage is done, and the flames will disperse.


Totsuka Blade + Yata Mirror + Susano

Totsuka blade and yata mirror are completely irrelevant and indecisive here. All they do is make itachi's death more shameful seeing as he's the one wielding arguably the most OPed weapon duo in the manga. 7th or 8th gate Gai almost instantaneously appears behind Itachi, crashes through the susano and blasts him out of existence. Itachi cannot keep up. That or evening elephant from behind suffices.

That's all Itachi has to offer, and they're all negged.


Gai doesn't need to go 8th gates for this. 7th gate perfectly suffices.​

Gai definitely wins against Itachi by opening 6-7th Gates. He can avoid getting caught in genjutsu, can dodge Amaterasu and Susanoo and pressure Itachi with his speed and power, making him exhausting his low chakra just to try to put up a defense. 7th Gate makes this a low diff win for the Green Beast. 8th Gate it's not needed even in the slightest, 7th Gate Gai can blitz Itachi with his speed and shit on his Susanoo with speed that he can't follow and Hiru Tora that he can't defend from.

Agree Gai is basically immune to genjutsu when he is in gate modes. Itachi even with Yata and all will fall to the might of Hirudora.
