Mr Togashi is currently on a long hiatus due to sever back pain. It has been nearly 4 months now. How come he has not given any updates to his fans regarding his back treatment. I mean ANYTHING! He could give info like 'The operation pit lots of strain on me so I won't dish out any chapter for a year' or 'Things are getting better ,a new chapter shall come out in a month' I don't get it
Why would he? It's not like you're paying to see more of the DC arc, i.e. pre-ordering future volumes of HxH. When you purchase a volume, you get what you paid for. He doesn't have to update his fans on how he's doing. Just stay calm and wait for that HxH greatness to arrive.
Also, I don't think it'd be wise of Togashi to update his fans since it'll lead to promises that he has to make and more stress for him.
Because he's not actually sick, at this rate i don't care anymore, ever since he took that massive hiatus in the middle of chimera ant arc HXH is already dead to me, i just want to see how this troll of a mangaka's going to end his work and begone from WSJ,
Mangaka that actually sick will give her/his reason to the fans, for example...
Silver Spoon/FMA mangaka just recently going hiatus this year and her reason is one of her family is sick and she need take care of him/her probably her child or husband,
D Gray Man mangaka is also on hiatus since 2 or 3 years ago cause she injured her wrist.

1.Inoue, hiatus since past last year, both Vagabond and real are put on hiatus, he has been touring the world, releasing books like Pepita, he was to return 4 months ago, but all he is doing is posting pics of his cat on his twitter.
2.Miura only god knows when will he release the next Berserk chapter and whether Guts and co will ever get off the boat and reach Elfheim.
3.Murata erratic in releasing OPM chapters albeit not erring like others.
4.Bastard manga(on of Togashi's favs) on hiatus since 2011, whether Hagiwara will return to finish the manga is a mystery.
All doing it for no given reason.
Comparing these except Murata, Togashi released 9 chapters and at least we know the reason of his hiatus this time so it's not that grim.
Also D Gray Man's mangaka isn't that innocent as you make her to be, it won't be returning any time soon.

1. Like you said, Inous have 2 ongoing manga Vagabond and Real, now that's tough considering his age, and he has no reason to go into hiatus ? didn't you said it yourself ? he's been touring the world, releasing a books, am pretty sure you know that Inoue sensei is a very busy man, he's also become a judge for manga awards from time to time for shueisha,
above all else he's not jerk like Togashi,
2. I don't really follow this guy but the quality of his works is one of the best and i don't think its something that can be produced on a whim
3. Murata heh ? he did well with Eye shield, but did you know he's not the only one who work on OPM ? he collaborate with this online writer called One, as far as am concern he only did the art, the problem is with this One group.
4. Am pretty sure you're well aware that his manga quality and content is beyond just fantastic and like Berserk its not something that you can produced on a whim,
And also all the mangaka that you listed up there is serialized in a monthly magazine yes ? like we all know Monthly magazine tend to have more flexible rules compared to weekly magazine, let alone the fact that Miura and hagiwara manga's has been serialized since early 90's,
Togashi's reason change from time to time, at 1st it was something about stress/mental attack or stuff like that, then now its back pain, its normal to think that this guy is just lying his ass off just because WSJ will never cancel his manga,
And D Gray Man probably will never comeback, Hoshino hurts her wrist that's fatal for a mangaka.

1.True, quite logical but his book release, exhibitions ended 5-6 months ago and he is too lazing but let's think he was mentally exhausted, but he has said he might not return for Vagabond which will leave fans disheartened.
2.As for Miura he the Togashi for seinen if not more, go on any berserk forum you will find more sadness than in HxH fanbase, many have been crying for as long as a decade, now compare him with JJBA author Araki, till 2004 he released his manga weekly then switched monthly but hasn't been as inconsistent as Miura who released the manga 2 years before, yet is lagging.
3.As for OPM, one's version is on chapter 98(which is the core of the story) while Murata's on 56 and few past chapters were really small, One delayed his OPM for Murata to catch up by working on his other manga Mob Psycho, but as I said earlier Murata is not as big an offender as others.
4.Bastard's manga quality was good but atleast he could have given a reason to his fans, all we know is he wanted a MMO/RPG but that couldn't materialise, now it is on hiatus.
Togashi writes weekly which is tougher than monthly, Togashi's chapter are quite plot heavy require considerable thinking.
Also in response to the premature ending on he gave this interview:-

In which he accepts his selfishness and apologises to his fans but it also state that he quitted because he always wants to write best quality manga and since due to stress his chapters were becoming bad he decided to end it. WSJ were hard on him that time.
It's better that he takes time and makes better quality manga than generic shonen which just unnecessarily keep on going (see bleach Kubo just loves trolling his fanbase or FT which fluctuates between decent to outright BS or Naruto whose unnecessary stretching made it intolerable in the last or the new Boku no Academia).
All I am saying that you are too harsh on Togashi he is a good mangaka albeit one who doesn't loves stress, so let him take his time.
Chronic back pain too takes time for recovering and there were reports he had a surgery, only 9 chapter of decent work is better than 100+ crap chapters.
Also WSJ put a lot of pressure on him in 90s so he is getting his fair deal, YYH is again going in reprint so WSJ are still milking the cow.
The D.Gray man comment was immature on my part, for which I feel bad.
So let us give Togashi benefit of doubt, I know he will release chapter next year, at least he hasn't abandoned his manga for something shittier(like author of prision school who left his awesome Me and the devil blues for purely BS prison school which is basically softcore hentai in name of a manga).

1. Well everyone love Inoue-Sensei.. what can i say ?
2. Yeah but i don't think Miura really have that much pressure to continue his series from his magazine and don;t compared him with Araki-Sensei, that is an immortal fairy he's in his mid/late 50's and yet he looks like 20 years old
3. I don't really know much about Murata and One but i think he should go solo,
4. Probably he's incapable of producing that amazing art of his anymore.
I have read that interview a long time ago, but i don't really buy what he said, that interview only confirms that he rage quit YYH, nothing more nothing less, and we can't really say YYH is the savior of jump considering Slam Dunk and Ruruouni Kenshin was also there to save the day and both manga ended in a good and satisfied the fans,
and he never actually give the fans a better conclusion for YYH after releasing disastrous chapter one after another before he end the manga without further notice, surely he don't mean that apology
Well above all else you have to realized that Togashi is serialized in weekly magazine, everyone would love to take their time and release a chapter when they feel like it but that's not how it goes, by that Logic then Kishimoto and Kubo should take a year break to make their manga's better, no one is bigger than the system, the GREAT EIICHIRO ODA is still working on his manga in a hospital, nobody told him to do that but he did it anyway.... that is integrity and i don't think Togashi have one,
Togashi already get his fair share for what he did with YYH, after all that disrespect he did in the past they still let him work for them, they even allowed him to work without editor and submitting chapter like this in their magazine.

2.Miura is the embodiment of Togashi like thinking, he has created the one of the best Seinen of all times and the pressure on him is like on Togashi but no one can understand why he too is given such leeway, probably because of sales.
And yes Araki is immortal but is a vampire.
3.While Murata has amazing art one of the best in manga, his stories are mediocre, it's one amazing stories and Murata's art that makes them a formidable duo and OPM great without each other Murata will just be a great artist of shield 21 and One the hipster webcomic author of OPM, Mob Psycho and Makai no Ossan.
Now on point I am both perplexed and yet understand why they keep Togashi the answer is money+Popularity, his manga always sell extremely well, merchandising sales are good and Tankobon volume sales are good too. Also he has cross sectional popularity, shonen fans, seinen fans, those looking for a great story, action manga fans and fujoshi fans(=D)
See YYH is getting a reprint will sell copies again.
Any other publication will hire him immediately it's business after all.
As for his art he can draw quite well when he is stress free this years chapters also in Tankobon volumes lot of it is redrawn by him and they are massively better than the weekly ones.
It is completely unfair to compare him Oda as he is of a rare breed i.e. the mangaka who can produce excellent plots after plots with impeccable work ethic, there is a very few mangaka like him who produces quality chapters week on week.
As for the 90s even though he wasn't the saviour his manga made up great sales and he doesn't work with any assistants which leads to his stress.
So you are being harsh on him see, he is better than quite a few out there.
Also I am probably a biased Togashi fan who will wait for HxH even with very well knowing what happened with YYH ending.

If his back gives him so much pain he should collaborate with his wife/some othere mangaka. He would think of agreat story like he always does while the other person would do the drawing. In a fact I think that his manga would look visually better thanks to this because his art/drawing style is not of particulary high quality to be fair. Especially compared to kubo, oda or kishimoto
