Yeah I am having the same issue on my end. It's the PSN not your internet connection. They have the error message up on the PS4 website stating they are addressing it. It has been down since Christmas morning for me.

Yeah it's really annoying too since NBA 2k is connected with the 2k online server. And the dude I created is in the playoffs but if I play offline I have to replay a bunch of games, and **** that.

Honestly sony needs to protect their shit, the film studio got hacked, the psn keeps getting hacked, all of there music is always leaked. When will they learn? I will switch to Microsoft or Nintendo if they don't shape up.

And it happened to both Sony and Microsoft. All because of North Korea and a movie that was released.
People are assuming NK had nothing to do with it but I think there's a connection.

For now the hackers are done attacking PSN and Microsoft.
They are testing their "Tor 0day".

The hacker group appears to be attempting to dominate Tor's relays to the point where it can comprise anonymity. Tor keeps you anonymous by bouncing your communications around a network of volunteer nodes. But if one group is controlling the majority of the nodes, it could be able to eavesdrop on a substantial number of vulnerable users. Which means Lizard Squad could gain the power to track Tor users if it infiltrates enough of the network.

So far, they have already established over 3000 relays, nearly half of the total number. That's very not good.

I don't believe it's due to lazyness.
Just no matter how many layers of security a company has, a targeted attack isn't the easiest to stop.
With a group of hackers all going at it,they can bring any company they choose to their knees.
Which no doubt there's other companies that's been hacked and don't even know about it. Almost anyone can learn how to hack in to a server,etc and can gain money for doing it.

Now a group hackers can also choose to misinform the public by stating that it was easy or a door was wide open but that's one of their goals to drive costumers away from the company,to hurt sales.

Also there's a possibility a few employees were knowingly helping hackers to get in.

It's still down in bigger areas. I'm in Toronto and it's still down. But it's not the DDosing anymore. MS wanted to get their servers up right away. Sony is doing maintenance on their servers to make sure another DDos attack can't work on them again. However, it's taking a while and I really want to play....
