Many people are ranting that how muhc soap opera like Naruto became... well, I'll the you the truth, Naruto became a soap opera right after the beginning of Part II!
Here's the fact:
- Tons of crying and emo moment even where there was no reason for crying.
- Emo, bishonen/shojo villians, see Sasori, Obito, Nagato, Deidara, Madara ect.
- Sakura becomes Twilight style Bella who was forced to choose from an emo vampire (Sasuke) and a hyperactive wolf (Naruto) and was used to tease the fans (whom should Sakura choose). She wasn't even allowed to go out with that good looking Stone Ninja who confesses love to her in chapter 539 + 540, because she must had to choose from Sasuke or Naruto.
- Shipping teasing and shipping "moments" fanservices (hand holding, CPR, name shoutings, blushings ect, so you know, nothing romantic but the brains of shippingers take them as romantic moments).
- The fights became more like a WWE wrestling matches where the fighters talking about their "sufferings" and "how sad their past was" then throws a technique.
And so on, so no, Naruto WAS ALREADY SOAP OPERA, people were simply defining it. What do you think, how could it be that the majority of Naruto fans were only reading Naruto because of shippings and when a shipping didn't happen (NaruSaku) then fans suddenly started to see how much a cheap Dragon Ball copycat was Naruto?
