Be honest... that guy had the point. Those, who were truly reading Naruto just for shipping (NaruSaku, NaruHina, SasuSaku, SasuKarin ect) probably mistook Naruto for shojo - not if the males characters weren't bishonen like already. I mean it was only about Naruto becoming Hokage and redeeming his best friend, not "whom will Naruto marry".

People took "parallels" and "romance/shipping moments" too serious, not able to accept that NONE OF THEM were neither good written nor well developed. Specialy true to NaruSaku, NaruHina, SasuSaku and SasuKarin, whiches were ALL mere friendships or ONLY one-sided at the best!

I am wondering if Naruto would be left open-ended in "shipping", would shippingers truly turned out to be those "raging beasts" like on the picture. ;P

When I was younger I didn't feel DB was caprice at all, while now I feel it is..
although I personally don't care pairing too much, I feel Naruto is not the plot style that suit for pairing like DB... so abrupt that not like any other feeling/love/emotion elements in the manga
Treat the pairing plot as a separate series will be cute.

Only the last 100 or so.
I haven't even found out about Shippuden's existence until it was around chapter 600, which happened through a Confession video anyways.
I have watched P1 before that, but it didn't make me go searching for online sources to watch it (I haven't read any mangas before at all either).

Hey man people will read how ever way they want to read Naruto. Some for shipping, some for actual story and content. The last arc was getting boring. So these pairings were what that were keeping Naruto alive for some people. I don't get why you need to bring this up to degrade another set of fanbase. Who liked to read this manga a certain way that you did not want to?

Sorry, I didn't intended, but I believe that there are "primary reasons" and "just for fanservice" reasons for mangas.

For me some example:
- shonen fights = because of the battles/fights and characters + sometimes for the story if there is one.
- sports = because of the story, the characters and how much knowledge has the mangaka about the sports that he/she writtes.
- horror = because of the story and scary moments.
- science fiction / fantasy = because of the story, the characters and the detailed the science fiction / fantasy worlds.

What I do if I want shipping? Then I read:
- romance manga
- harem manga
- shojo manga
- josei manga
- ecchi manga

Definitely for me.
I never liked the NINJA side of Naruto - too dull and too little IMPRESSIVE.
Also, WAY too much philosophy that DIDN'T support itself in the next arc anyways.
Nagato has ONE philosophy.
Obito has ANOTHER.
Madara has yet ANOTHER.
Kaguya doesn't have ANY to begin with.
Oh, I know - the POINTLESSNESS of Mugen Tsukuyomi, maybe???
It's like ALL villains were reduced to DRAMA that MADE NO SENSE.
Compared to the villains I'm USED to (mad guys that want to conquer/destroy the world, ya know) - too bland and complex, while leading NOWHERE.
Oooooh, and Sasuke-hunting went WAAAYYY overboard VERY quick.
