Ok so I watch the PP Season 2 episodes as they are streamed (Dubbed) as I was a gigantic fan of the first season have probably seen it about 10 times and I want to know who actually believes that Kamui is the better villain than Makishima from the first season?

I just don't get the same villainous vibe and feelings of despair as I did from Makishima, his actions may have been more simplistic but they overall just made him a better character then Kamuis U_U

Idk Again I haven't seen all that much of Kamui yet but his emotional side just doesn't impress me at all.

Kamui wasn't that bad.

The problem was that Makishima was so damn fantastic that it was incredibly difficult to replace him. Not to mention that he was the first major ''villain'' so his character made more impact. It's always difficult for a second ''villain'' to overshadow the first one.

That being said, I prefer Makishima over Kamui. Season 2 overall was also a little disappointing compared to season 1 so that contributes into the whole Kamui thing as well.

Well I try to not compare but since I am I agree. But in my opinion the whole first season was better than the second, though it's not bad.

Tbh I rather enjoy the good guys in Season 2 a bit more, I like the new enforcers so far and I really am loving How Akane's character has grown..... Of course then that new detective don't even care enough to learn the name needs to go burn U_U Asap

Yes, I can agree on that. Season 2 Akane was the Akane I had been waiting for throughout the entirety of season 1. She was already there a little at the end of season 1 (That truck scene with the revolver) but Season 2 really showed her growth.

The new inspector is hated by a lot of people immensely. Her name was Mika, I think? She was also shown in the movie trailer, I believe, so that's nice. People were also disappointed in the lack of Kogami. The cast got weakened a little but the new characters kept it interesting, imo.

Overall it was still an enjoyable season, though. It simply wasn't as good as the first one.

Kamui wasn't really a villain. He was more of the anti-hero type. Hence why you don't get villainous vibes from him. He didn't really enjoy murder like Makishima did. Kamui was really well done, if you ask me. Makishima is still a bit better, but I feel like Kamui would definitely be as good as Makishima was if season 2 was a 2 cour anime like the first season. I dunno. Just didn't give enough time to expand even further on everyone's character. Though, I still like Kamui a lot.

Makishima, not even close. I dunno who this new writer is and I don't care to learn his name, but he's destroying everything and ignoring every rule Urobuchi established in the first season. I just thank God nothing happened this season that had any long-term effects on the series.

I love both and I don't try to compare one or the other...... Imma go with Kamui here because he's most recent. I knew most of you weren't going to let go of Makishima Lol.

This new writer works under the supervision of Urobuchi ( in case you don't know Urobuchi is supervising the season 2 ) so in a way Urobuchi approved/acknowledge his work.

I'm hesitant to believe that with all the shit he did this season, but why was Urobuchi allowing this if he was in a position to tell him his writing was terrible? It just doesn't make sense to meU_U

Well that's the truth... Urobuchi is listed as the supervisor for this series, why was he allowing this ? because he likes it that way ?
there's a lot of reason you know, in the end all that matter is Urobuchi allowed that to happen meaning that he acknowledge this,

and if you think about it, this season 2 served as a stage for Akane massive character development, and an early introduction for new characters 2 enforcer(Hinakawa and the guy with that big ass Dominator) and 1 inspector(that broken little girl), this characters will take part in the movie, so that's mean they don't have to bother with introduction anymore in the movie since we already know who they are and what they're capable of,

and don't forget about the Sibyl system... it has been upgrade.

Yeah, Akane was the one character who didn't show major consistency issues, but the only good thing about the others was that their introductions were moved out of the way. Hinakawa was okay, but Togane has issues to work out and Mika is just dreadful all-around. With all the rules Urobuchi established, she NEVER should've become an Inspector, let alone stayed one.

And the Sybil System got one of the biggest flyballs of the season. Kamui's plan never should've worked, because the system never should've had brains with high crime coefficients (they're all criminally asymptotic, remember?).

Makishima's plans were more sound and solid along with better reasoning for them , in the end everything he did was better and more adjusted for the show U_U
