I always found the Studio Pierrot complaints more of a joke. People did not really have any solid proof they were Hinata fans instead of Sakura's. It was all made on mere assumptions.

Meh.....to be fair, they've shat on AND made her look better at different points in the anime...they forced relevancy on her during the Naruto rasenshuriken training arc. I almost shipped them thinking she really did make all those medicine balls for him and was supportive. Turns out ***** was nowhere to be found in the manga. SMDH. They make her look waaay more relevant in the anime than she actually is....but then there was the "who will I save first" filler which pissed ppl off....if you didn't already hate Sakura by then, this is what surely pushed you over the edge...at least it did for me.

....But it doesn't change the fact that they strongly prefer Hinata to most (if not all) other characters.

This is true. So, she really is as awful as the anime shows in some areas, but not as awesome as they show in other. Again I ask: how do she even have fans???!!! LOL

To be fair to Hinata, ppl like her for the same reason they like Lee--she was introduced as a hard worker trying to improve herself. WHile Sakura's hobbies and dreams for the future centered oj Sasuke and she was introduced as an annoying girl who friggin made fun of an orphan....Hinata was a loser who was fighting to change and win her father's respect. HUGE fcking difference....

Kishi diminished her to "Naruto-kun" in part 2 though, which sucks....but we also saw her grow in confidence and she did win the respect of her father.

But, yea, Hinata is ALSO pairing fodder. Can't deny that as she was conceived in the first place to be Naruto's love interest.

I think they see Sakura as somewhat of a badass. Because of the way she acts around Naruto. She does not play the "yes" man role.
