I think it would of been a great story if sasuke did seal the beasts in himself leaving naruto in an ultimate bind. Naruto wouldn't have them to rely on (leaving great hokage developed naruto a possibly and greater story), and yeah sasuke would of won, but he would of said what naruto said to him.

Thus still leaving and naruto telling the tale of their fight to little ninja kids, but they're all staring at him like this -
