1. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
The Empire of Britannia has invaded Japan using giant robot weapons called Knightmare Frames. Japan is now referred to as Area 11, and its people the 11's. A Britannian who was living in Japan at the time, Lelouch, vowed to his Japanese friend Suzaku that he'd destroy Britannia. Years later, Lelouch is in high school, but regularly skips out of school to go play chess and gamble on himself. One day, he stumbles on terrorists 11's who've stolen a military secret and is caught by a member of the Britannian task force sent after them, who is Suzaku. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a young girl, gives Lelouch the power of Geass, which makes anyone obey any order. While Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Britannia's brand new prototype Knightmare, Lancelot, Lelouch becomes the masked Zero to lead the rebellion to destroy Britannia once and for all.
Personal Review; This is the best, no questions asked. People say Death Note is great, but this is better.
it has everything, Romance, Comedy, Thriller, Action. At first i didn't quite like the whole concept with the Mecca Robots and Skinny Characters, but after a few episodes i saw through that. this is the kind of anime that makes you go "AHA, I KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!" and then you get trolled hard with one of their EXCELLENT plot-twists. the ending of this anime is phenomenal. i cried. R1 & R1 (season 1&2) total of 50 episodes. 10/10
2. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
In this world there exist alchemists, people who study and perform the art of alchemical transmutation - to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. They are bounded by the basic law of alchemy: in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.
The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an alchemical accident. Edward managed to attach his brother's soul to a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he paid the terrible price of his limbs.
To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosopher's Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously.
Personal Review; This is my second favorite anime, why? well it's quite simple. it has excellent action, good voice actors, it has those happy moments where you just want to jump off a cliff and die... cuz you're too happy... and it's so exciting that you will have trouble being still while watching it... this is that kind of anime where i was like "just another episode then i'll go to sleep. - aaaaaaaaand it's time to go to work..."
the ending made me feel very good for weeks, and i even cried :')
total of 64 episodes. 9.5/10
3. Zankyou No Terror
In an alternate version of the present, Tokyo has been decimated by a shocking terrorist attack, and the only hint to the identity of the culprit is a bizarre video uploaded to the internet. The police, baffled by this cryptic clue, are powerless to stop the paranoia spreading across the population. While the world searches for a criminal mastermind to blame for this tragedy, two mysterious children—children who shouldn't even exist—masterfully carry out their heinous plan. Cursed to walk through this world with the names Nine and Twelve, the two combine to form "Sphinx," a clandestine entity determine to wake the people from their slumber—and pull the trigger on this world.
Personal Review; OH MY GOD. what do i say? seriously... the main characters are pretty, it has an innocent female character (which i like... no boobs or ultimate mega fighter) she's just amazing... shy... silent... yet her body speaks a thousand words. i don't even understand how they could've done it this good with the characters. it is really not that many episodes, it's like 11 episodes i think. but every episode gets that extra in-depth feeling that makes it not feel as if it was rushed at all, yet many things happen, you know what i'm saying? it's exciting, it has romance, you get them chills and feels... i cried... of course i cried. it's my third favorite anime for a reason, it was made by one of my favorite anime writers Shinichirō Watanabe, the mastermind behind both Cowboy Bebop AND Samurai Champloo! he's just truly amazing and the plot of this anime is... perfect! a total of 11 episodes. 9.4/10
4. Tokyo Ghoul.
The suspense horror/dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious "ghouls" who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.
Personal Review; When i saw the first episode of this anime i was looking at my watch... and said; YES... the grocery store is still open... i ran there and bought a 4-pack of redbull and some pringles potato chips. Reason? well... i knew i was now going to watch another 11 episodes non-stop. it's just truly amazing... it's some blood in it which i don't like... but in this anime it was alright... it was not "too much" if you know what i mean? this anime is also very exciting, it has mysterious characters that you just wanna know more about... and i really hope there will be more seasons coming up... about the characters i can say that everyone who like strong females will definitely like it, she's HOT too... even without showing her boobs, which is amazing. the main protagonist is called Kaneki... how not to love him? he's truly something. i fell in love with him during this series. his innocence, his smile, his charisma even though he's a little nerd... damn! watch it and you'll understand what i mean. a total of 12 episodes. 9.0/10
5. Mirai Nikki
Middle school 2nd year, Amano Yukiteru, is a boy who has problem making friends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write down everything he sees in a cell phone diary. Tormented by solitude, Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machina who is apparently the Lord of Time & Space. Seeing Yukiteru's miserable state, Deus gives him a new ability. His diary will now record events that will happen in the near future. Yukiteru is then forced to participate in a game which the winner will become Deus's successor.
Personal Review; O M G. during this anime i was crying, crying and crying a little more.
i don't know why... but i kinda like weak main characters... and this one called Yukkii takes the price for the weakest of them all. he's really fortunate to have his little stalker Gasai Yuno... which on the other hand is a complete bipolar retarded pms murderous psychos *****, yet very very very very very cute and totally in love with Yukkii i both love her but at the same time i hate her... when you watch this series you will have very mixed up feelings, you will feel the love and hatred to the maximum as it gets. and you'll go crazy... when i told my friend that i'll be watching this he simply said: Good Luck. and i didn't even understand what he meant... but as i got half way i was like; OMGOLlwejnghwdaf **** THIS!!!!!!! but i continued watching... because it's so very exciting, romantic, dramatic, oh god if there was a "cry" genre it'd be imdb most "cry" movie ever.
and i don't mean cry as in sadness, but rather happiness and emotional moments. (and by that i don't mean LOVE, but... sucess and other things.) i highly recommend this to anyone of you out there. a total of 26/27 episodes. 9.0/10 P.S don't forget to watch the "Mirai Nikki: Redial" episode which is the "ending"
