The Jinchuriki simply because being ostracized for acts that you didn't even commit and having such insane loneliness to fall back on takes a toll on you mentally. Sasuke because of the "losing love" aspect which is arguably worse than what happened with Gaara and Naruto and Itachi endured an immense amount of stress and pain given that he had to kill his own parents and Kin all the while playing the villain role in order to protect the village and Sasuke.

Itachi had the hardest he had too kill his family and clan and protect his little brother and was treated as a traitor. Kabuto i really didnt pay attention too his but he lost his life too the government same as Itachi
Gaara was treated like crap everyone feared him and his on Kin tried too kill him messed up right there would mess you up mentally
Naruto i ranked him higher than Sasuke yeah Sasuke saw his clan massacred but the fact that as a Child he had friends and ect he was the cool one and people were always around em even tho he didnt want it. But Naruto on the other hand had nothing to begin with and was treated like a outcast Nobody would talk to em everyone thought he was going to be a failure and was treated like that.

madaras generation was in constant war and they saw they're clan members and family members die almost every day. madder lost all of his brothers and tobirama and hashi lost 2 of theirs. all of them had to see the bodies of their loved ones carved up and some didn't even have much of a body left to bury. on top of that they were forced to kill other children who were just as afraid as them and hated war just as much which is pretty sad.

but nagato, kabuto and i suppose itachi (seeing as he was actually retconned and was really evil in the beginning so yeah) also had it rough. kabuto was a pawn his whole life never in control and always under the command of someone who at any moment could kill him if he messed up and nagato is just the poster boy for bad luck lol. itachi....eh if he'd just spoken up he could have avoided his whole ordeal i don't think he should be in this he did it to himself

OT: If we are going for groups, then I'll support the middle group.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Gaara all had rough childhoods, but they were able to grow out of them and find value and joy in life.

Naruto: sure he was lonely, but he ends up making a ton of friends and ultimately realized his dream.

Sasuke: He has a good childhood until the massacre, but manages to find friendship in team 7. Which uktimatley pulls him out of his despair end game of the series.

Gaara: pretty much the same starting scenario as Sasuke....he had someone but loses them. However after the invasion arc he has a place and people to belong to.


The war generation had a tough early life, but ultimately established an end to the warring states with the village systems. So I'd say they had it tough, but it wasn't like their generation again had a life that improved. Their livelihoods were no different than the other people of their times.


The middle generation basically got ****ed over.

Itachi: He had to murder everyone he loved for the protection of countless more lives. Then he had to leave behind those he killed his loved ones for in order to give some amount of respect to his clan. He livedt the rest of his life being hunted for arguably doing the right thing.

Kabuto: An orphan forced into spy work that ends with him killing his foster mother. And spends his entire life constantly having to change who he is. Kabuto never got to really be himself. To the point he couldn't even be himself...absorbing others to try and make himself.

Nagato: War torn orphan who was a victim of circumstance. His family is murdered for Madara's scheme. His entire life is constantly filled with struggle and losing friends. And ultimately his goal was a lie.

Tobirama never "wished" for Konoha. And Hashirama after getting Konoha had to deal with Madara and all the other crap. However, to say things got better for them unlike Itachi/Nagato/Kabuto isn't really fair. Kabuto would've been done enduring after the war, Itachi well he died at 22, Nagato he did endure. At Itachi's age Hashirama/Tobirama/Madara were still in a war , family comrades and etc were dieing. At Kabuto's age samething. In Nagato's samething.

Well, I meant that both brothers wished for stability. I'm aware that Konoha was originally Madara's/Hashirama's dream. But, later on Tobirama did set up the political policies, at least many of them and the main system.

Well, eventually the war did stop. I understand what you mean about Tobirama/Madara/Hashirama being older and still dealing with war though.

People judge questions like these differently. To me, I judge on whether the person got some form of happiness, regardless of how old they are. Itachi died at age 21, Nagato at age 35 when he died- things didn't get better for them. They just passed on their resolve to the next generation (ie: Naruto), but died thinking they were failures. Kabuto has changed and things are evidently getting better for him ever since he was released from Izanami, however, with Nagato/Itachi- those two are enough to make me choose the 2nd group.

I wouldn't envy either choice he had. :/

Also, just because one chooses a path doesn't mean that all pain is non-existent. It's still there. Literally the only difference between choosing a path is that one does not have the right to complain (since they chose that way) unlike another who has zero control.
