Amaterasu is not instant...
Raikage dodged it easily, with Jiraiyas sensing he should be able to evade easily..

He almost dies against Animal path how is he defeating Otachi.

I don't dislike Jiraiya. Pretty neutral towards his character these days, though there was a time when I really liked him. Itachi doesn't have to be healthy to win. He could be coughing up blood and still low diff Jiraiya. He has numerous ways to end the match right from the start.

Basic 3T genjutsu + Shunshin ends it right away. As well as Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi.

Itachi mid diffs Base Jiraiya. I feel Kishi portrayed a sick Itachi equal to SM Jiraiya.

-They were tied with the highest stats in the databook (even Orochimaru was half a point below).

-They both died on the same day back to back.

Jiraiya can beat Itachi high difficulty under the following conditions

-he starts in SM
-he has full intel
-Itachi is sick

Anything else and Itachi would win
