Why people keep saying that Neji's death was the only way for NaruHina to happen? I personally can't see Neji and Hinata as a pair, cuz starting from part 1 Hinata always called him brother and was always in love with Naruto. What do you think?

Neji's death had nothing to do with romance. NaruHina is between Naruto and Hinata only.

It wasn't the only way for it to happen, but Neji's death brought Naruto and Hinata somewhat closer together through a shared loss.

Neji and Hinata are cousins; they wouldn't be a pair...

I feel the same way. What about the movie, does Neji even appear on it? Naruto realizes who he loves from memories of Hinata when they were in the academy!

Sad to say but in Kishimotos mind it does. That's why I'm so ****ing glad the movie team didn't even bother with it. It doesn't even exist in the movie.

Neji wouldn't ever get with Hinata.

Kishi stated Neji dying was the "bridge" for those two to get together and called him "Cupid". He even stated that's why he was killed.

The problem I have is that they killed a good character for NH basically.

Sigh, would somebody explain why people riding on this still?

First, Kishimoto could make Naruto and Hinata closer without death, but Kishimoto believed it would be a "good" way.

Second, since there were no "pure" romances and shippings in Naruto, does it even matter? Just tell me, I can tell all the drawbacks of them. For example: MinaKushi could only happen because the evil racist Cloud Ninjas kidnapped Kushina and Minato had to save her. Without saving her Kushina would never fall in love in Minato.

Third, no matter how much "antis" ride on it, it is till a used way to create couples, like it or not. It doesn't make a couple forced or "unpure". Not mentioning that Naruto and Hinata only became a couple 2 years later.

Final, would it be better if Kishimoto says "I killed Neji because he didn't do anything important in the entire Part II and became a fodder only with a name" or what Kubo said about Gin's death: It was better for him to die there"?

I don't see the quote as being "Neji died -BECAUSE- NaruHina" - I see it as "Neji fulfilled his destiny and in doing so forced Hinata into a more active role in Naruto's life."

Someone had to die in that arc (granted, I believe more should have, it's kind of like this hugely epic war that could be a car crash as far as the K11 are concerned). Neji was to die protecting Hinata and earn his freedom by selecting how he would fulfill that destiny.

Like people said, his death brought Naruto and Hinata closer.

However it still looked like it came from nowhere since there was almost no development leading up to it - we don't really see Naruto and Hinata interacting meaningfully with Neji in Part II, and that "shared loss" didn't look like it had the intended impact.

The idea behind it is understandable, but the execution was somewhat clumsy :|

Neji died a HERO, not a VICTIM.
The latter role is entirely Haku's.

Neji and Hinata are cousins; they wouldn't be a pair...

but in Asian culture first cousin are allowed to marry each other, it isnt weird, alot of my first cousin marry each to each other
it isnt big prob, also kishi delibertly killed neji cause nejihina had bigger fanbase than naruhina that pissed him off he doesnt want anyone paired with hinata except naruto
