Is everyone here enjoying the directions Kishimoto is taking with Naruto? The end shippings, the kids, the second mini-series with Bolt, the themes of the final film, etc? I'm really not, and this is the first time I've had a criticism of the series at this magnitude.
1. I disliked that Kaguya was the sole final villain (Black zetsu does not count for me)
2. I disliked the overly happy ending when it was heavily foreshadowed to be at least a little tragic.
3. I don't like the choice of shippings because I believe they weren't developed in the direction Kishimoto left them.
4. I don't like that Naruto sounds incredibly out of character in the film.
5. I dislike that Sasuke, Kakashi and several other characters get little airtime and no development in the film when they were heavily advertised.
6. I dislike that the film focuses more on romance and just Naruto and Hinata when this is supposed to be an action shounen, not a shoujo or soap opera made to develop a couple that should have been made in the series if it was going to be established for a long time.
7. I dislike that the second series will be written by an editor rather than Kishimoto.
8. I dislike that it will be about Bolt and not the original main characters.
In short, the final chapter of the manga, the final film and the idea for the upcoming mini-series is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
I feel like I'm reading and watching a new series concocted by someone else such as editors and jump as a money ploy and nothing else. For the first time, Naruto is feeling like it is losing its substance with me. Sure, that's how it is with all fictional media, but at least before this, the series wasn't near as obvious about it. It's driving me crazy so much that for the first time, I'm going to have to buy a Naruto game to get my mind off it as well as possibly write a fanfiction for how I wanted events to go down lmao, which I've never done before.
Well, it's not all bad I suppose, maybe writing a fanfiction will help to revive my interest in writing and continue to develop it. Still, I can't help myself from feeling this kind of sucks...This has happened to me with two other series because one never ended while the other foreshadowed a future plot but never picked up a new series. Still, I didn't write a fanfiction for them and I got over them quickly unlike this time around.
