Why shouldn't Obito be forgiven?

I want to know the state of mind of those who think Obito shouldn't be forgiven. I can assume the argument s that he's a mass murderer, manipulator and overall a psychotic individual. Okay, I get that. But many of them were because it's a shinobi system and a shinobi system (more or less) made them all victims of hatred that wars bred.

We knew that Obito was a cheerful guy just like Naruto who ended up on a bad path was used like a puppet. Why shouldn't he be forgiven if he fell victim to manipulation schemes of a fossil/shinobi system/hatred cycle? One could argue how a person can't see when he's being manipulated and how one can fall to such hatred that killing anything in his path to get to his false goals is just a whim. But we don't understand the psychological damage they endured because of losing the loved ones and being used by the hatred. Discuss.

It's not about forgiveness, it's about atonement.

He atoned for his sins by helping naruto save the world, forgiveness is subjective so not everyone will or even can, the only thing that matters is that in the end he tried to fix it.

Okay, but if he atones for his sins, that's an even more argument for his forgiveness. No matter how much damage he did to the world, he was a victim in the end.

Why would Obito care tho Sasuke/Naruto would be his only opposition if he survived

We're talking about Obito when he realized he was wrong. I forgot to mention that.

Yes but as I said forgiveness is based on personal feelings, some may not think it was enough, some may think that he shouldn't have even gone with madara in the first place. I can forgive him because I understand, but not everyone can or wants to do the same.

This. Obito is basically someone who set your house on fire, but put it out when it was half-burned because he felt remorse.

Eh, he really wasn't.....jut like Itachi, no one else besides a few characters knew how he died in the end. He still paid for what he did.

It cancels out cause with him this probably never would have happened and without him they would have lost

i can see your point i think. all shinobi are murderers but the fact that they run villages mean they are forgiven. so why shouldnt a shinobi who is a mass murderer be forgiven or something along those lines. he was manipulated just like those other shinobi manipulated into killing people.

Yeah, I guess this is why I originally made this topic. A built system of value says that if one is misguided and even atones for his sins, he should be forgiven because in the end, we're not perfect, everyone makes mistakes. Those who don't understand, I wonder why they don't.

Yes, exactly. And there are still people who wouldn't forgive him for that. Just for the fact that he helped them, let alone forgive him just for the fact that he was used and manipulated.

I think Kakashi Naruto and Sakura forgave him but the world didnt he was a war criminal if hes remembered by anyone besides those that forgave him its probably some fodder whos best friend got roasted by giant Katon jutsu

He hurt too many people to make up for it all I dont feel two or three people have the right to forgive him for things he did not involving them

Yup, unfortunately though there will always be someone with a different opinion.

But if those people got a detailed explanation on how he was used and how he helped save the world in the end, you think they would forgive him? He murdered a lot of people, but to simplify it, he made a mistake because he was used, he didn't do it because that was his state of the mind on its own.
