Naruto still was able to transform into Six paths Sage mode (六道仙人モード, Rikudō Sennin Mōdo) against Sasuke.

The Manga only showed Naruto losing Hagoromo Sun-seal. Mind you even Sasuke lost his Moon-seal.

Now about the Movie, Naruto didn't use Six path Sage mode against Toneri simply because Kishi didn't wanted to Spoil the transformation to Anime viewers.

Logically, we can even say Naruto also didn't use Six path Sage mode against Toneri because Matured Naruto might be too OP using that mode against Toneri.

It honestly does make sense to why he didn't use his SO6P mode in the movie since he knew people who only watch the anime wouldn't know about that form.

There were some fan fictions from D.Art that were misinterpreted and posted everywhere as spoilers for the movie.

There were more versions of them, and all of them said that Naruto will have his Mode taken by Toneri, while only one said that Sasuke will have his powers taken too.

People believed it, as they realized Naruto would overpower Toneri, this especially if Sasuke would have helped, as the spoilers showed.

This was not the only thing that people still believed from the fake spoilers to be true after the real movie summary came out.

Some days after the real movie summary came out, people were still believing Orochimaru would die, as the fake spoilers said. This happened with Karin too.

Naruto loosing his powers was not an exception, as there were more misconceptions.

everybody in japan knows about RSM naruto.

in the beginning of the movie theres a clip showing everything that happened prior to the movie, that includes kaguya fight and naruto vs sasuke fight. so why in the hell would they not show RSM? no body is gonna get spoiled in japan, specially after that little clip at the start of the movie makes no sense.

RSM would overpower toneri thats why they nerfed naruto.

naruto and sasuke negg toneri which is why sasuke is not in the fight in this one.
