Actually Anakin becoming Darth Vader is because his wife is dead giving birth right, if yes, sure Obito found Rin death, and becoming like Darth Vader

And lord Sidious is triggering the darkness in Anakin, as Madara triggering darkness in Obito

Similar in idea.

Anakin became Darth Vader at the threat of his wife dying, not after the fact. He was fueled by desperation, not sorrow like Obito.

Obito and Nagato both share many traits with the legendary sin lord, so, I wanted to see who Narutobase thought was most like him. Both of them are horribly crippled, speak in a deep baritone, have their identities hidden for much of the series, were similar to the main character in their younger years, were prodigies of sorts, played the role of the main villain when they were in fact someone else's pawn, sought peace through vicious means, and of course, both were heroes turned to the Darkside that eventually managed to redeem themselves. For Obito especially he of course has his scars and the fact that he has artificial limbs, was virtually the same as the main character in childhood, and had very similar motivations to Darth Vader in his start of darkness (both involving their best friends and love interests). Aside from this, Obito, like Darth wears his mask for the majority of the series, and even appears as a force/chakra ghost. For Nagato we have the fact that, like Naruto, he is an Uzumaki, giving him a blood relation to the hero, as well as the fact that they shared the same master. Other than this, they both share a prophecy, like Luke and Anakin. Another point bringing Nagato closer to Vader was his attempts to bring out Naruto's hatred, something Obito never actually tried to do.

Personally, I say Obito is still closer to Vader, with Madara of course playing the role of Lord Sidious, down to him saving a broken Obito and repairing him, but I still want to see what you guys think! Vote away!

You forgot Sasuke lols.

I never saw him as being like Darth, he's more like Zuko imo.

1. Anakin sought power from a villain to save his wife. Sasuke sought it from a villain to avenge his loved ones.

2. He became emotionless and ruthless like Vader.

3. He turned on his friend and fought him with his new dark powers just like Anakin.

4. He rejected the shinobi system and wanted to overthrow and reform it just like Anakin and the Emperor with the republic where only one person would be in control.

Neither really, Vader knew what he was doing was wrong and didn't see himself as a savior. He didn't do what he did for the greater good, it was pure selfishness.

Padma was Anikin's wife and she loved him. I think it's quite justified for him to whine about her. I am not sure where Obito's misery over Rin comes from. He is closer to Nagato on a lot of aspects in terms of prophecy.

Obito is, but in all honesty. . .It's an insult on Obito to compare him to Anakin Skywalker. At least, the movie version of him was worse written then half of Naruto.

Oh come on ... Why do people dislike Anikin? I found the guy pretty likable. Especially the scenes where he slaughtered the village where his mother died. It showed the steps a man would take to pacify his grief.

Not bad. It's something we'll agree on.

The actor did a good job with him, and he has his moments. But both trying to live up to the pre-established materials in the first place, coupled with Lucas' bad writing just makes him feel less like an actual person. At times, he doesn't act like a person and really just does stupid things that someone in his position shouldn't.

IIRC: He goes from confiding in Obi-wan about how nervous he is about Padme, to questioning Obi's calls and undermining him for a cheap shot at attention, to privately venting frustration about Obi-wan to Padme, who he really just met for the second time in his life. All within a considerably short amount of time.

Lucas did drop the ball with the writing. I'll agree.

i gotta say Obito for a few reasons:

1. His dark side turn was engineered.

2. He spent yrs deceiving himself that there was nothing left of his former self.

3. He eventually got TnJ'd to the light side by someone who was who he used to be.
