Would YOU consider the last canon or tacked on??

This isn't about my opinion. I'm curious about what everyone else thinks about the idea of the movie being canon or whether they feel it's tacked on and out of place.

I've heard conflicting reports that Kishi simply oversaw the plotline proposed by the studios. Until someone clarifies whether this is true or not, I cannot say.
