Most shinobi who became teachers are in their prime (unless given plot hack powers).

At this point in time Konohamaru couldn't even take Naruto without abilities. Let's add in Sage Mode, KCM, Rikudou mode, and Full Kurama.

Honestly the next Hokage logically will be in the K12 unless Naruto stops early, they usually quit being the Hokage around the ages of 30-40 in which Konohamaru will be right after him so there wouldn't be a revelence for him being a Hokage unless Naruto dies early.
