Well, it's not questionable they were always on par with each other. They were the two strongest clans in existence.

I don't know the exact chapter numbers but it's around the time Hashirama wanted to kill himself so Uchihas and Senju could co-exist, until Madara stopped him.

I see you're one of the simpletons as well. Genetics play in part of Madara obtaining the Rinnegan. A simple fact that he implemented Hashirama's DNA to get it proves that. Ashura and Indra's chakra is semantics and plays a larger role in the issue of transmigrants.
