Sharingan do not have its own source of chakra.

I always assumed that Sharingan simply have abilities(genjutsu, direct amaterasu on target) that runs on the user's spiritual energy or the special chakra in the brain(2nd gate) for the Uchiha clan.

Susanoo is an ability granted to those who awaken the powers of both their Mangekyō Sharingan. It is formed through the materialisation of the user's chakra.

Madara used Susanoo with no eyes at all. Sasuke used Susanoo with one MS and one rinnegan.

If you think about it. Double MS give you full access to that special chakra in the brain. Which allow a user to use Susanoo. With very good Chakra control and chakra manipulation, you can achieve perfect Susanoo.

Once a user achieve perfect susanoo, you basically mastered susanoo. You control it like it an extension of your body. You don't need double MS anymore to pull out susanoo once you've mastered it because it an extension of yourself and you harness the special chakra in your brain.

Before anyone say you still need MS to direct that special chakra out of your brain, think about how susanoo work. That special chakra covered the whole user's body like naruto's chakra mode. You do not need the MS to direct that special chakra out of your brain once you master Susanoo.

During that moment, that user have access to that special chakra unconsciously and that special chakra influence the sharingan...causing it to change into Mangekyo sharingan.

MS can't handle the direct connection to that special chakra, which is why the eyes lose its light the more it is use.

Now this is where it get so freaking confusing. By transplanting another set of eyes, the user's light return. And the user have a new design MS which is call EMS. I don't see no reason at all for a EMS to not lose its light especially when it not in the original body.

I believe a user still have access to their special chakra after their eyes went dark.

Ugh. went off topic i guess. but oh well. Did Indra's MS went dark? How he was able to keep fighting his brother? He gotta had access to that special chakra without his eyes!!

Of course sharingan has its own source of power, those eyes even contain own chakra, impossible as it seems.

Susanoo however is more trickier here, i think its formed out of body not eye thus it no longer needs it after awakening.

Right. We can agree that the special chakra is the energy source for sharingan. If a user don't have that special chakra, the sharingan will use user's spiritual energy in place for that special chakra. Which would explains why non-uchiha get worn out faster from using sharingan.

I doubt that since that special chakra is the only reason the sharingan is even there in the beginning.

The Rinnegan, a Dōjutsu, can only be obtained by having Hagoromos chakra and is the peak of the Sharingan-according to Kabuto. In addition: Ao could also see Shisuis Chakra inside Danzō. He saw the signature of Shisuis chakra in the eye.

If that is true, then why Sasuke"s susanoo ain't the same color as Itachi's susanoo? You half right. Can't fully disagree with you on that. But there is still a lot of contradicting going on in the manga.

Spiritual energy is basically life force. Which is why I always thought that was the reason why kakashi pass out fast from using the sharingan. There is no special chakra to supply the sharingan so it drain his spiritual energy instead.
