[Predictions] Why I think Mihawk is stronger than Shanks, and why it will change by EoS

I think CURRENT Mihawk is stronger than CURRENT Shanks.

I say this because Shanks only has one arm.

They were portrayed as absolute equals prior to it, saying Shanks was the only one who could give him a challenge. And that was with 2 arms.

Imo, losing 1 arm will devastate your power level no matter who you are but on varying levels. Yeah Shanks is still strong no doubt, he could clash with Whitebeard and make Akainu think twice about continuing the war. So I don't doubt he's strong.

BUT. When I think about it, I also think this make his fight against Luffy less impressive if he only has one arm. Because then people will start saying 'yeah luffy won, but what if he had 2 arms...?' So to avoid this, I think that he will meet with Vegapunk, Law, or some other remarkable scientist/surgeon who will either make him a perfectly working robotic arm that can connect with Haki, or Law will surgically give him a new arm using the Ope Ope, that'll be good as new.

And that's when they will be equals.

this has been on my mind a long time and I just wanted to voice why I think this.

I sort of agree. Mihawk and Shanks are both leaders in their own rights, they're not partners, and neither is the subordinate to the other.

but that's different with Zoro and Luffy of course, unless oda plans to make them equals by EoS. My opinion may change when Mihawk is shown to be stronger

- They had friendly, high quality duels in their youth... [Doesn't propose that they're absolute equals]
- Mihawk complaining that battling a one-armed man isn't much challenge... While WB complimenting that losing an arm doesn't put much difference in his power...

What I interpret from it...
- Shanks was as able a swordsman as Mihawk (roughly)...
- Shanks is, even after losing an arm enough intimidating as he was in those days...

Yeah, they're equals unless the manga says otherwise. They constantly fought each other and neither one ever won. Pretty much means equals.

Mihawk insulting Shanks and WB complimenting him pretty much evens it out. And when Shanks and Mihawk would fight, I can guarantee you he only used his sword for quick clashes and to divert high scale attacks. His swordsmanship may come close but its probably only around a 6.5 to a 7 if mihawk is a 10.

you can't really gauge intimidation when it comes to top tiers, they're gonna be intimidating either way

and lets not use hype as a mediator.

Mihawk's title puts him above Shanks. But, I believe Shanks is stronger b/w those two. Though,that's my personal opinion and I am not interested in starting Shanks Vs Mihawk shit again. (Lmao, I still remember those 15 pages of arguments and insults.hmm)


OT: I don't think Shanks would ever do something like that,He's not getting his arm back. & I don't think he's going to fight Luffy. Most likely,It'll be BB that puts an end to Shanks.

Mihawk lost to Shanks countless times and then he got butthurt and challenged him 24/7 and still lost...after Mihawk found out Shanks has no arm he felt good about himself and stopped fighting Shanks

Idk...They still seem equals to me. Shanks' haki gives him the edge and probably makes him equal with Mihawk now that he has 1 arm (if it does make any difference at all v_v )

And I don't think the whole mechanical/prosthetic arm is gonna happen. Hell, we aren't even sure if Shanks will get to fight with Luffy.

Even if they do fight, they gonna do it the way they are. No robotic crap or whatever. Besides it's Haki that matters and soon we will see U_U

Lol @ the people saying that Shanks is weaker than Mihawk because he only has one arm. After Shanks lost his arm, look where he is now. We haven't seen his combat style or seen him fighting at all, we've seen him use haki twice and clash with WB/Akainu. I'm not going to let Mihawk's title end the VS discussions against Shanks because he don't know his combat style. Maybe CoC is his main fighting style since he's seen as being a master at it.
