well unlocked it the same time obito did so he was young , and yes first seen versing diedara and i reckon he started training after the encounter with itachi to try obtain his MS which he didn't know he had lol

Actually when i think of it... only Kakashi called it Kamui...
he might've invented that name himself.

i've never heard Obito call it Kamui, atleast until after he heard Kakashi call it Kamui

we just assume it's called Kamui overall because Kakashi calls it Kamui, right?
he's the only one yelling "KAMUI!!" when he uses it too?

Obito just uses it, doesn't say anything at all just slips away

but Kakashi decided to not use Kamui in vain because it would result in Kakashi passing out, just like we saw when he used it againt Deidara

however, he learned to controll Kamui somewhere after the timeskip, he went training while Yamato took controll over team 7

Yea but he didnt realize he had it until the timeskip, thats what I meant. He awakened it at the same time as Obito, but wasnt able/didnt know how to activate or use his MS until the timeskip. I havent watched or read that arc in a while but Im pretty sure he says something about how he awakened it while Naruto was off training, because he was unaware of the first time it activated.

Because sharingan are in pairs so it's right to say that he unlocked it as a child since we watched it fullt mature from a 2t moments after he killed Rin. (remember he was crying like a girl and passed out when Obito went ape s***and killed everyone) And later after waking up he didn't even know if he was the one who killed them or that he had the M.S. (according to Narutopedia) He later than supposedly found out about KAmui during the timeskip, and was first seen using it against Deidara. Then of course trained to later make better use of it sometime between then and the great war.

He had it since anbu days but was unaware of its existence. He trained to reawaken it during the timeskip.
Much like how sasuke awakened sharingan on uchiha massacre but due to itachi's meddling with his memories and forcing him to forget he didn't know he had it. Thus had to reawaken it vs haku.

With any non Uchiha it would take massive amounts of chakra to constantly sustain especially since you can't deactivate it. But it is recoverable. It's not like bam you got a sharingan now you have less chakra, it's only during it's use. Mostly due to the fact that he is non uchiha. Think about it this way as an Uchiha using the sharingan is a hereditary ability. Your body was born ready to utilize it due to gererations of ancestors unlocking and using it before you. Now for Kakashi it's like using a jutsu that you learned constantly, which is the reason he keeps it covered. Furthermore since he has first used it the overall length he can use it has increased due to prolonged use and training.
