black zetsu is weak and pathetic. He hides and attach himself to strong people in order to survive. He even said himself that kakashi and minato could kill him if he left obito's body

He needed Obito's body to do anything at all.

Also, it's the Venus fly trap that eats dead bodies, Black zetsu doesn't have a well structured body for that.
