[Suggestion] Ideal MangaBase

Hey there everyone, now this isn't necessarily a suggestion page, this is more along the lines of what I would very much like to see with MangaBase/NarutoBase. Please, I understand that there will be criticism, but please be respectful.


Role of the Base

Now that Naruto has come to an end, it will not have the same impact on the base as it did while it was running. However, that does not mean that Naruto has died out. I just mean that there is not as much of an emphasis on Naruto.

That being said, I believe this base should be a center for all manga. I like the idea of equal placement. I personally am not fond of being on a base where one series (Naruto) being ranked higher than the others. As this place is called MangaBase, I would like to see that all manga are on the same tier

Basically, I would like MangaBase to take over Naruto Base

Design Changes

Starting with the top banner. I like how there are several main characters of different manga on top. I think that many people would wish to see the main character of their favorite manga on top though. In order to seem fair, I have two options.

1) There will be a group shot of the main character of every manga that the base hosts and several scans of each of their series in the back

2) The scans of several different manga are provided and are more clear, but still faded. And the name of the site and the 4 color circle logo are shown being drawn on a blank manga page. So it will show a pencil that is drawing the circle logo and the title "MangaBase" which should be colored.​

Layout changes

This is where it gets a little complicated

1) Remove all indication of NarutoBase with only MangaBase, so instead of "NB Contests", it would be "MB Contests"

2) Remove the Naruto Media section and move the M.A.C. Base in its place.

3) The M.A.C. Base section will still show "Manga, Anime, & Comics Discussion" and it will show the sub-forums, but the Bleach, One Piece and Fairy Tail sections that are currently below it will be removed. Instead there will only be two other sections below "Manga, Anime, & Comics Discussion" which will be "Read Manga" and "Watch Anime" where the Read Manga link will take you to an area to read from a variety of manga and the anime will take you to an area that hosts a variety of anime and there episodes.

4) Change the "NarutoBase Role-Playing" to "MangaBase Role-Playing". Additionally, all the current links in that section will be removed. In their places, right below the section title, it will be as follows. M.A.C. RP and Free RP. Those will be the only two seen. When you press on the M.A.C. one, it will take you to a list of different Manga RP's. For example there will be a Naruto RP, a One Piece RP, a Fairy Tail RP, an Avatar RP, a DBZ Rp, etc. Each link will follow the same format. Basically, everything you currently see under NarutoBase Role-Playing will be inside the Naruto RP (which would be inside the M.A.C. RP) The other sections would follow the same format. The Free RP would basically be what the Non-Naruto RP is​

Technical Changes

The only technical change I would see is in the RP section. As I stated earlier, there would be several different RP sections. For example, There are groups such as Konohagakure, or Akatsuki that members may join as part of RP. This can also be done for the Fairy Tail section. The groups would just be named something to match the series. So instead of villages being joined into, members would try to join Guilds, like Fairy Tail or Crime Sorciere. Or for One Piece, rather than guilds or villages, people would try to join Pirate Crews, etc.

So yes, people can participate in several RP's. In the Fairy Tail RP, custom magics can be made, just like custom justus are made. In One Piece RP, custom Devil Fruits can be made. In DBZ RP, custom Ki techniques can be done. Training will work the same way, etc, etc.

Because people can participate in several RP's, people can have up to 2 bios per RP section they are in. Duplicate bios in different RP sections are okay, they will only have different abilities. Such as a Naruto Bio in the Naruto RP can be made as well as a Naruto Bio in the One Piece RP, but the two bios would have different abilities. Also, each bio made can ONLY be used in the RP section it was made. So if I make a Naruto Bio in the Naruto RP, I can NOT use that bio in the One Piece RP. If I would want to, then I have to make another Naruto Bio specifically for that RP section.

RP USERS MUST READ!

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE AN RP CHAMPIONSHIP / RP GAMES / RP BATTLE ROYALE

For example, once a year, there will be an independent competition where RP members of the base can face off other RP members on the base, even if they are in different RP sections. That means, for this event, individual members will be able to choose from as many of their bios from any of the RP sections they are in and use them in a series of games in a competition all in order to crown a champion, who will be recognized as the king of the RP. So you can pit a Naruto Bio in the Naruto RP against a Luffy Bio in the One Piece RP and fight. The members of this competition can use any of their bios!

Another time in the year, there can be a team competition where RP members join with their friends to win in a series of games or fights

Another time in the year, there can be a battle of the RP Sections. Candidates of each RP Section will be chosen and then fight against other RP Sections! So it will be the top RP'ers from the Naruto RP against the top RP'ers from the One Piece RP against the top RP'ers from the Fairy Tail RP against the top RP'ers from the Bleach RP, etc.

Sorry for all this, and I understand if many of you don't read it, though I highly recommend you do so that you can give me feedback!

I'm only here to answer your suggestions about the RP sections stuff. I'm all for different RP's that are designated to different sections, but having those RP's face off against each other? That's a no go. It's like a multi-verse fight, it's just gonna end in a big mess of "this won't affect my bio" or "this won't work if you use it like that". But the other changes that you've suggested, I wouldn't really mind.

As for things like Genjutsu and Haoshoku Haki and those stuff, I think it would be stated in like the official rules that all techniques done in one universe can be affected on the other as if they were a part of it. So genjutsu would affect everyone normally and magic from fairy tail would affect everyone normally.

Whether NB becomes MB or not is purely administrative decision and I don't even have a problem with that, but it's kind of, off putting to deny that it was Naruto community which mainly made the site this large and you are in such a hurry to deny that. And still is the most active manga/anime section.

Banner will change with time and new designs will change with time and again but take it easy. Keeping some characters doesn't mean not putting other mangas on the same level but one cannot put all the mangas up there the banner at the same time either.

Have you counted how many mangas are out there? Some may not be even 1/10 popular but maybe awesme. Not being on top banner doesn't make them any less and yet you may miss it.

Don't make it a competition between fanbases when it's not.

Some of your suggestions maybe implemented some day, some maybe under discussion already but a sudden change to reduce and undermine most active sections is trying to kill it.

MB is just in a start-up stage so far, but as you can see there is a type of transition that have started to happen already and we do want to expand our community and site. However things like this take time, as there is plenty of things that needs to be thought through for it to work out. Members will have different opinions about this matter of course, and I cannot answer for the RP part. Either way we are doing our best to upgrade the community and site, so that we can keep it active and gain more and new members that can take part in discussions of their favorite mangas.

Suggestions, opinions and constructive criticism is always welcome.

This is true. I guess the only way to fix that would be to have a "power-converter" made to make everyone considered the same range. But that would be difficult

Yea I understand. I edited my last post for clarity already. I am only pointing out that not being an image on banner from a manga or not being put in the order you like doesn't mean making less of them. A design is just a design and only shows the images which the artist or GFXer was thinking about at the time at the most.

It's not a fanbase competition and shouldn't be seen as such.

I honestly do! Though only for DBZ, Fairy Tail, and One Piece, as I have not read other manga. I do plan on it though

Also, I think I will share them tomorrow because I really should be getting some sleep! But I will definitely send you what I have! Tell me what specific mechanics you would want to see though and I'll get you your answer!

Ah Don't send me. lol I don't RP at all. You can make a thread and RP mods and admin will check out. They may not be able to implement them any time soon but still it doesn't hurt to throw the ideas and see if it works.

I may randomly check the thread though. Ki , Haki, chakra and nen are similar concept but OP seems to be more suitable for something freestyle rather than rather classified style of Naruto. So it may be interesting to see how you mix them. xd

Well I think people can create Non naruto RP in social groups and fan clubs( to make a gathering place for new members while detailing it in group) and try their RP in Non Naruto sections. If any RP is really successful over time, it may gather more members and get their own sections too if big enough.

We do not have enough people to start all that once and staff already has enough on their hands. But this way (above) you can start and enjoy your idea anyway.

Ask RP mods though. I hardly every go there unless asked for and for specific mod work only. RP personally doesn't attract me much.

That's way too much, how can we handle three more, when alot of the roleplay mods are busy with one? Not to mention numbers, and achievements, nope. We should stick with one.

NarutoBase RP as it is of now cannot be clubbed with any other RP. So as for your suggestion about the RP section it is a no go. Already Other anime influence are heavy in the NB RP. For example, Almost all the bleach and One Piece characters are made as Custom Naruto RP bios. We also have a Custom clan which has the exact same powers as Peeps in One piece verse.

It will be a highly difficult and tedious process to have a battle royal in between Bleach, Naruto and One piece considering the fact that even introducing Naruto verse level of power ( Speaking about Naruto, Sasuke, Obito and Madara's Power ups ) is itself a time consuming and tedious process. It has to be perfectly made to avoid future confusions and problems avoiding any form of inconsistency. So, the RP is not even possible, but even it were to happen it would mostly be a failure as it would cause Problems and be full of inconsistencies.

You should prolly try the RP sometime.

We don0t have nearly enough members, mods or admins to support other RPs at the same level as the one we have now. It's out of the question to let this one die out, or stop improving it. Most RPs, successfull ones at least, require undivided atention and effort, and suddenly creating a site that houses multiple RPs will undoubtly mean you either get lots of Weak roleplays with moderate number of members or lot's of moderate roleplays with few people each.

So far we have one big RP with a lot of people, and even it isn't running as smoothly as it could be. The Admin can't just start hiring a ton of new Admin and mods, there isn't even enough members for that.
