Funny, because it is precisely the opposite. You are more than welcome to bring out any decent fact to oppose my statement that Itachi is one of the most poorly contrived, ill-conceived characters within the manga. From his pseudo-mysticism to the zealous Jingoist in him. Everything about this man is pitiful, banal, and redundant.

Most people simply cling onto this guy because of the nationalist ideals he churns out faster than a man who can make a cheap glass of lemonade. His mysticism is tawdry and unimpressive and doesn't suit the so-called facade of pacifist he wears with joy. That is just about it for his character.

Itachi has personality and we see.

There are a couple people who I think are well written in this manga and Itachi is definitely one of them. So I'll agree with you to a certain extent but I honestly think Sasuke was the best written one. The whole manga was practically focusing him.

Might have been Naruto's story but I believe (each to their own opinion) that they really invested into Sasuke's story and really focused on his growth as a person.

I like Sasuke character, but I felt that Kishi wasted his potential to be Vegeta level epic.

Stone cold badass who is bad to the core who needs complete conversion to the good side.

He could have done that with Sasuke, Sasuke really had potential.

But he didn't kill Sakura, he didn't really kill anybody besides Danzo. His potential to be a hellion was nerfed to hell

All Sasuke was just lost, he wasn't even a bad guy. It just really took a lot away from him as a character

No. His motives don't justify his actions and he was the worst. I repeat. The worst double agent in the history of manga. Axel from kh is a good double agent, that sexy chick from uncharted among thieves is a good double agent. But itachi? Horrible.

I just feel that his GOAT potential was severely nerfed due to Kishi's poor character development

Even the bond that Naruto and Sasuke had was not as it should have been

At least with Goku and Vegeta, both were Saiyans, both had their homeland destroyed and both LOVE fighting

Yea both kids came from similar background of orphanage but Kishi didn't take the time to really establish what made those bonds as tight as he presented to be

If he didn't wipe out his entire clan, the entire ninja world would have plunged into another Great War

The Uchiha were going to rebel, that would have weakened Konoha other Shinobi states would have jumped in and Konoha may have faced extinction.

He did what was best for the village

What else could he have done?????

Its not like Sasuke who actually had a choice, Itachi did what needed to have been done
