With full intel can't Kisame fuse with samehada from the get go, making Ay's attacks null as he can't separate samehada nor can he finish Kisame off in that form? With full intel Ay hits Kisame with a V2 blitz and does massive damage, tosses Samehad aside and finishes the job before the two meet again.

I guess the fight depends on starting distance. Do you think Ay can cut Kisame in half with his raiton chops? The process is far from instant, though. I'd wager Ay could clear a fair sized gap between the two before the fusion is complete. Still dealing harsh damage and providing an opening for a quick follow up.

People like to use starting distance as their only hope, by making some ridiculous distance like 100m or something dumb like that.
Yet in the manga, how many battles and face offs are anything more 25m.
People like to act like Ay going into v2 is instant.
He doesn't even need to fully fuse with Samehada though. Just partially fusing Kisames arm with Samehadas hilt eliminates the possibility of Ay ever separating the two. The question is, does losing all that chakra at once zap enough energy out of Ay so he can't immediately blitz again and overwhelm
Starting distance obviously plays a huge part.
This blitzing argument is so dumb, since no starting distance is given we can assume that it's a neutral that gives neither party a significant advantage. Kisame beats him the exact same way he beat Killer Bee
Because it pretty much is.

He goes from base to V2 in 2 different panels. I don't know how long you think it takes. He did the same to minato as well.

V2 straight off the bat. GG Kisame. Depending on the distance, V1 is fast enough.
