I always thought law did something to luffy's body that time. And now we come to know of the Eternal youth surgery. It could very well be possible that law performed the same to prevent luffy's death.
But it all depends on whether the user of this ability have to give up his life immediately or it takes some time for him to die?

Of course survival rate of main character is never zero- not before the manga ends at least. Luffy has plot shield as the main character. That prediction was most likely just a play on the fact.

Nice theory, although it's probable that it may happen there is still a chance that it won't happen. All Law wants is Doffy to suffer/die, it may result in a double death. That'd change up the supernova scaling quite a bit, would the top 3 be Luffy, Kidd & Hawkins? Also, Luffy/Law/Kidd are portrayed as Roger/WB/Shiki respectively, no?
