If Kaguya and Madara, (who never use their jutsu absorbing powers) are too stupid to absorb something, why would Nagato be unable to do it?
It's not senjutsu, so the traditional (wrong) answer that he would turn to stone doesn't really apply. Doesn't preta path have no upper limit on the amount of Chakra it can absorb?
