"A Missouri grand jury has decided not to indict Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson in the August 9 shooting death of Michael Brown, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said Monday night.
After an "exhaustive review," the jurors deliberated for two days, he said. The grand jurors are "the only ones who have heard all the evidence," McCulloch said.
Brown's father is "devastated" that Wilson will not face charges, a spokeswoman for Michael Brown Sr. told CNN's Evan Perez.
"While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change. We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen," the family said in a statement."*

The biggest piece of evidence:

Brown's blood was found 25 feet past where his body was found. This means he absolutely came back to the officer like the officer said.

Too many people base their conclusions on emotions and perceptions rather than evidence in trials like these. And even after the evidence is presented, they will still deny it.

I understand that, and listened closely to the prosecutor as he explained what happened according to the concrete evidence available, and am absolutely baffled by the fact that he isn't being charged for 2nd degree murder. Whether his hands were raised or at his sides, whether he was running away or charging towards him, Brown was unarmed and backup was on the way.

Say that the officer was unarmed. There's no conclusive evidence to suggest that he would have been injured by Brown in any serious way. The "slight swelling" does not warrant lethal force. Brown had already been fired at several times when he turned and charged the officer, and only for getting in what by all accounts was a bit of a scuffle. If there was anyone who truly in real and significant danger, it was him.

I don't think that he is this racist evil man that some people make him out to be. I think he's a human being whose reaction to the situation was overzealous, and he should have to face the consequences for that.

Any and all faith I had for the U.S. legal system and for fundamental fairness went out the window when Ross Ulbricht was indicted. I'm not at all surprised. I have no faith in our jury system and it's clear that the U.S. Government isn't really for the people.

But what do I know? I'm an ignorant teenager.

Actually the training is the problem, they don't train to de-escalate the situation. What if the officer had just said, "Swisher cigars, really? Tell ya what, just put them back and you walk, or if you just have to have them, here is $4. It's worth $4 just so I can avoid the paperwork, or how about we go get a real cigar instead of those that have been sitting on the shelf without a humidor for the last 6 months, how about that? Doesn't that sound better than a misdemeanor because it sounds a lot better to me. What do you say?"

I can guarantee you that the convenience store won't press charges but was only reporting so that the clerk could avoid being blamed for employee theft and so that the company could write it off their taxes. It simply isn't worth it. Now thanks to idiocy, born of a take no risk, escalate, and fear mentality the very purpose of serve and protect is lost. Do you folks feel safer? Morons....

Whether it's unfair or not is subjective, but acting like it idiots won't change anything.

Based on what the prosecutor said, the situation was escalated by Brown's refusal to cooperate with the officer before he was even aware that he had stolen the cigarillos, and his continued refusal to cooperate after the officer figured out who he was. As a result, the officer chose to try to enforce what he was asking Brown to do, and things eventually escalated to Brown being shot. It sounds like Brown was being antagonistic to the police officer. This does not however mean that the police officer was in the clear to act as irresponsibly as he did. There were a huge number of more sensible paths he could have taken that would have resulted in Brown not being killed.

Have you heard of the guy who was high from drugs and fought off 16 Policemen while masturbating? ... Such incidents are not only limited to drugs, our bodies are capable of tremendous feats and even a naked person just from the shower can deadly if they know his way around.

OT: Good ... now we can focus of the riot damages and thefts.

The dispatcher informed officers of what had been stolen when asking for responders. You wouldn't respond to "we think someone took something."

The sad part about this case is no it is no longer about justice for Brown, but silly of ideals of racism.
