First, homosexuality is not just "I'm gonna go **** people of my own gender." Like any sexuality, homosexuality is mental, physical, and emotional attraction(or lack thereof) to certain genders. Homosexuality means you get physically aroused from the same ***, and you feel emotional and physical attractions to members of the same ***, and none of this happens with any other gender. Now, arousal is caused by your brain sending blood to your genitals via chemicals in the body, it's an automatic response. You cannot control when these chemicals are sent, or how much is sent, or where its sent. This is why men will get random erections without being able to subdue them(Think back to high school), or why people get horny at seemingly random moments. Now, you have some degree of control over arousal, you can look at or think about stimulating materials, but that doesn't give you the ability to control the process, that only gives you the ability to perform a catalyst to start it, and once it starts, your body does whatever it wants, you can't control the actual process. Same goes for homosexuals. They cannot choose for their body to only release these chemicals when they think of and are with the same gender, and they cannot choose for their bodies not to do it when with another gender.
