Kawarimi no jutsu lol

I love this series, but this jutsu in particular seems like a big fail to me.

It is a simple jutsu that nearly anyone can use ( it is taught at the academy), however, it is insanely strong.
Almost at spacetime lvl jutsus maybe.

Somehow you switch places with an object or person near instantly.
Most often a tree log is shown as the replacement.
So basically, you move super fast to a tree, cut off a log and make sure it appears at the place from which you fled (and you move to the tree from which you took the log from).

That looks like a lot of work and somehow this is being done near instantly.

It seems like a badly designed jutsu (as in designed by Kishi) that any shinobi should just spam for life, because of how insanely strong it is.

I believe Kishi is a brilliant artist, it is just this one jutsu he created though, that seems like a bad creation to me.

What do you think of Kawarimi no jutsu?

Maybe I fail to see that it is actually a well designed jutsu by Kishi.
If so I would like to read an explanation from someone who can explain that to me.

Kawarimi can be used with any object but since Konoha is surrounded by forests and there are more forests all over the world with all manner of logs lying around, it makes sense that they use logs.

It's called substitution justu and they don't use it in shippuden alot since all the enemies are too fast for that shit Lol

Sakura spammed it like a handful of times vs those soundnins in the forest of death though.

Only plausible way it was ever used it kakashi switching with naruto clone and madara with limbo, rest was just retarded BS you described.

I mentioned the logs as example because it shows how weird the jutsu is.

When a tree is nearby, you need to break a log from the tree really fast and put that in place of your real body.
Yet in the series, it looks like it all happens near instantly. As if you and a tree log switch places teleport wise.
As if it is spacetime, which it isnt, since it is a simple jutsu learned at the academy.

So the jutsu looks way to powerful for an academy jutsu (in Naruto world terms that is).
It looks like a broken jutsu as Umari Senju said.

Unless I have overlooked something why it is not broken.
In that case I would like to have that explained to me.

Like honestly, only kishi can decide when someone wants to use that jutsu. How people teleport to trees, cut off logs and replace that log with themselves even after being hit, is beyond my comprehension.

It would've made more sense as a time-space jutsu...if you are fast enough to get a log and convincingly make your opponent think it was you. Then why not blitz them and take their head off?

Exactly, thats one of the reasons why the jutsu seems like a failed design as a simple academy jutsu.
