Maybe the same applies to Obito's spacetime.
That could be a reason not to use clones.
It might weaken the abilities of his main body as well.
When Muu had split (not Kage bunshin, but still might apply in some way) he couldnt use dust release.

When Onoki lost a certain amount of chakra, he couldnt do dust release anymore.

Maybe making clones would affect the jutsus the real Obito could still do, because chakra is distributed among the clones (making the real one have less chakra).

It's sorta main reason why nobody spams clones, but naruto :he just cant get any fodder
