-one thing that impresssed me in Madara was his fast progress and evolution :

he awakened EMS , then Rinnegan , then got hashirama's Senjutsu ...then he become Rikudo...then he unlocked the 3rd eye ...thats just amazing

becuz Madara is an invincible immortal, then defeating him become a reall issue in the shinobi world :

Except Gai lost and he had help from Kakashi, Minato, and Lee. If Minato didn't transport the TSB away Gai would have died right there and with out the others he wouldn't have even touched Madara.
