Obito falling during the fight with konan supports what I'm saying, he was affected by the real world gravity but he was intangible & still phasing through objects.
Since konan opened the ground, that means he wasn't able to reach his dimension where his platforms normally would be.
Possible that some of the platforms are flush with the real world's surface, not shown in the image but just picture some of the pillars touching the surface instead of all of them being below it.
Lol and then we get to that pillar we talked about earlier. Does he have elevator there too? Did it randomply overlap with that pillar on same level? Does his or all dimensions even overlap?
Cuz he was slowly ascending which isnt possible with those squares of his.
You simply have to give into the fact that when he transports lover part of his body to kamui his upper part doesnt fall down into the ground.
And in same manner he can move in NV while fully intangible, that konan falling can be explained that perhaps he wasnt fully intangible only parts that overlapped with tags as even you mentioned.
I would rather justify it all with some izanagi/COAT elements for what its worth.
I get what you're saying about him not being able to fly it's logically sound. But the convenience of the pillars being exactly at the levels he needs them to be whenever he passes himself or other objects between dimensions sounds like bs to me. Considering that his dimension is both 1 to 1 with earth (kakashi warping things in the exact location he went intangible and it appearing in the exact location he went intangible to) yet endless(I think db said that) while having pillars deep below and deep above earth/sea level. Seems to coincidental.
Browser crashed so I'm not gonna go through repeating most of what I was gonna say for my own sanity. Zzz But anyways, obito having platforms that he uses to phase through the surface [or possibly platforms that he can control] seems more likely a possibility than him simply having the ability to fly, especially when he only showcased any type of flight as a JJ. Yeah it may seem too coincidental, but kishi never really explained this aspect of the ability so I'm just going with what makes the most sense, even if it's slightly unreasonable.
& I don't think that some of the platforms are deep below but only slightly below not all of them, just enough so that he could fully disappear underground. The dimension is probably 1 to 1, but the levels of depth may vary based on damage done to the environment over the years.

Maybe he had one just below that pillar.
He could've been crouching, he's been known to toy around with his enemies.
I never said it did, as I said he could have platforms flush with the surface too.
He was fully intangible when naruto hit him with a rasengan in the other dimension but he couldn't move out of the way.
I would rather the kishi, or at least the DB explain how he rises above the ground. Lol
The platforms would have to be deep below seeing as how he was well below sea lvl yet still using kamui to phase through konan's paper bombs, while at the same time they'd be high above since he was able to(as you put it) stand on a platform slightly lower than the pillar of the already high up bridge of iron.
Why? Who said the platforms extend all the way down to the "bottom" of the dimension? & Even if they do he'd still be hitting them regardless of their height. A few possibilities are available here:
1] He already passed the depth level of his platforms
2] He missed the platforms altogether since they aren't connected [coincidental but possible]
3] He doesn't have any platforms in the sea
All three of these are possibilities & what I said would still be viable.
While at the same time they'd be high above since he was able to(as you put it) stand on a platform slightly lower than the pillar of the already high up bridge of iron.
Compared to the surrounding landscape, they weren't that high, baku is a good comparison of that. [

All in all, my point is that my platform theory can explain why obito can do all the aforementioned tricks via kamui & still have the inability to fly. While the flight theory doesn't hold since Obito's been given ample opportunities to showcase it & hasn't until he gained a confirmed flight ability. I still see my theory as being the more likely one & therefore the one I believe is the truth.
Nowhere does it explicitly say that it can attract an intangible person, that's just something you made up. It says that it attracts all substance and matter, but an intangible Obito isn't counted as one, since he literally does not exist in the same dimension.
BT pulling something from another dimension sounds extremely stupid...
But if an intangible person is unaffected by gravity then why can't Obito fly when he is intangible? Why did gravity take it's tall on him when he was falling into Konan's trap? Why didn't he just float/fly out of the trap if gravity doesn't affect an intangible person? Wouldn't that be a plot hole then?

Where did i say an intangible person is unaffected by gravity? Bansho Tenin's gravity pull =/= normal gravity, it's just a jutsu.
Even if it that weren't the case, the intangible afterimage of Obito only mimics the real Obito's movements, so since he can't defy gravity in his own dimension, he can't do it in the real one, either.
Still it affect him in some way as he could not fly. Actually Draphsin theorya about platforms in Kamui dimenssion makes sense and would be great way to explain it, especially if Obito can manipulate their hieghts of extend them up and down to fit his needs.
Lol we've seen obito phase through floors and walls while using kamui showing absolutely 0 Fck's about the earth's gravity.
What makes you think this gravity is different?
Heck we've even seen obito and base kakashi run freely in gravity conditions that held down even the likes of kaguya and Naruto.
Daphuk is this weak ass tech doing to kamui users?
It shows gravity force in Obito's dimenssion is weaker then in real world. Bascially until he won't make his full body phasing by overlapping with something he is affected by gravity from real world and his own dimenssion.
If this is true, then it means Obito would never phase while BT was used on him as he has nothing to overlap with.
In other words BT+ Naraka Path/Human path would work on him.
Also, about gravity dimenssion not affecting him:

^^ Well Obito can not do anything about gravity force, it also proves he can not phase unless overlapping with something.

^^ After gravity shift by Kaguya Obito and Kakashi can run freely.
People who believe deva's abilities don't work on obito: He would be able to fly while intangible if he wasn't affected by the real world's gravity. ST affects him, however it doesn't do anything to him since he won't make an impact with anything or he can just teleport away before he does. ST is useless regardless if it works or not.

In other words, Obito becoming intangible to defend himself against Shinra Tensei or Banshon Ten'n is useless. Because both Jutsu use gravitational forces, and Draphsin pointed out that Obito, when intangible, his feet is still standing on the surface of ground, meaning gravitational forces of Rinnegan would still enter the Kamui dimension, and it's where Obito becomes damaged.
So, it's confirmed Rinnegan and Nagato > Obito (aside Juubito). Dat Rinnegan.
