How was does supposed to suggest that it is purely movement speed, while nullifying the notion of it being attack speed? If anything it is actually reinforcing the attack speed concept by using words like hitting, which is his actual hand hitting.

We see the 4 EE legs..Why? Because Gai strikes faster than the previous ones. If not, they won't be catching up to each other as you can see the distance they cover is really close.

The more speed and momentum, the more powerful the punch will be.

It uses the words hitting because that's the main part of the attack. But the faster one moves the stronger it is.
