=) | (=It is very nice to meet you Kakashi! Now, what can you tell me about lightning release? How do you think it is created? What are it's weaknesses as well as strengths in battle? Can it be combined with other elemental affinities, if so, with which ones? Can you combine it with other objects? Weapons perhaps? If so, explain your thoughts.

Elemental Chakra: Elemental chakra follows the same basic principles as normal chakra but it involves changing the balance between the spiritual and physical energies, either using more spiritual or physical energy in the one technique. This allows us to use elemental techniques, there are 5 basic types they are fire,earth,wind,water and lightning. They all have elemental strengths and weaknesses in relation to other natures.
Raiton: Lightning style is utilized through the user making their chakra vibrate at a high frequency. It is often used to pierce the opponent but can also be used as a cause of paralysis. Most often used as an attacking element. Lightning release is strong against earth as it can just move through the earth and break it up while it is weak to wind as it is intangible and a natural insulator. Kumogakure shinobi commonly have the lightning affinity. Eg A, Bee and Lightning release is used in A's Nintaijutsu to increase the speed of the electrical signals through his synapses giving him more physical speed.
1. Lightning is strong against earth because it can easily travel through and break the ground apart.
2. It's weak against wind because it is a natural electrical insulator.
Raiton has a unique relation with water, since water conducts electricity. This means that a Water Release technique can be used to increase the damage of a Lightning Release technique.
Lightning release is much more powerful when it utilises natural lightning, a powerful Fire Release technique shot into the sky can produce thunderclouds in preparation for this.

That was very good Kakashi, simple yet well explained information. I'd like to point out another possible elemental combination for lightning release. Although it is a natural weakness, on rare occasions lightning has been seen used in combination with earth release. After having raised an earthen structure, lightning is channeled through the ground and by utilizing the earthen structure as a source, it is then released in the form of lightning bolts in order to strike/paralyze the target. Speaking of combinations, weapons are a great use as well. Normally, chakra can be used to enhance one's weapons. However by utilizing the vibrating properties of lightning chakra, one is able to coat their blade in a thin concentrated coating of vibrating chakra which would highly increase the cutting capabilities of the blade. Since metal is also a natural conductor, lightning has been seen to pair up quite well with said weapons, being able to flow the energy much more fluidly as well as potentially stronger. And lastly, weapons have also been seen used as natural lightning rods, having the potential to attract lightning techniques or by "absorbing" the lightning energy in the user's system and transferring it into the ground in order to protect the user from paralysis.
Now for the potential uses of lightning release. You have already stated that lightning is an overall aggressive element meant for attack. You have also described the supplementary uses like with the Raikage's armor and such, enhancing one's own speed. As I have already mentioned the weapon usages I will not do so again. I want to move onto other applicable methods for lightning release. These applications go by the name (Not officially, just something I like to call them by.) Field Type, Projectile Based, Wave/Unfocused, Coating and Special.
Field-Type: This revolves around the usage of lightning based techniques around the battle field, these techniques don't necessairly revolve around the user having to release them from their mouth as a projectile. One example would be the Earth/Lightning pillars/earth structures I previously stated. That technique would be classified as a field type ninjutsu. Kirin, as you previously mentioned being a natural occurance and manipulation of lightning would also be a field type ninjutsu. By sending their own lightning chakra into the sky to manipulate the natural lightning, the user is able to bring it forth and strike with great strength. There are similar variants although weaker in nature. The user can send their electrical essence into the sky to then manipulate the nature and shape manipulation in order to bring down a lightning bolt from the sky. These types of usages basically revolve around manipulating or utilizing lightning in versitile ways around the battle field instead of their generic projectile/wave based counterparts.
Projectile Based: These are the most commonly used lightning applications. The user will utilize their own body in order to release lightning energy. By utilizing advanced shape manipulation (Not in all cases being Advanced.) the user will highly concentrate the energy and release it in the form of a projectile. This is typically used in the form of lightning bolts, although some users can been seen shaping it into other forms like dragons and such. Typically, lightning projectiles are released from the mouth. However it has also been seen that they can be released from the hands as well as the legs by performing the necessary gestures in order to release them. For example, swiping or thrusting one's hand in order to release the lightning energy or simply kicking the air to release it as well.
Wave/Unfocused: One of the other most common applications of lightning nature. This method is normally released from one's hands in order to produce, guide and release the energy in the form of a wide spread or simply small wave of lightning. It is sometimes unfocused energy which isn't strong physically, only able to paralyze and shock opponents as well as neutralize the earthen chakra in techniques. Although commonly released as unfocused forms of lightning, the wave method can also be "concentrated" in some ways. We have seen that lightning has the potential to deal physical damage by heavily concentrating the chakra thus striking the enemy with greater pushing force.
Coating: As I have previously stated, weapons can be coated with lightning in order to increase their cutting or paralyzing capabilities. And as you have stated, lightning can be utilized to enhance one's own state. Coating is a very universal technique in terms of methods for this elemental nature. The coating aspect can be combined with most of the methods above, for example coating the user's body with concentrated lightning or specific limbs in order to pierce structure like with the chidori. Or possible coating their body with electrical energy in order to shock anyone that makes physical contact.
Special: The "Special" applications of lightning revolve around the unique and rare usages of lightning. For example Kirin although it could fall on the field type method, it is more or less a special usage as well. This is because it allows the user to control natural lightning, something that isn't commonly used. The lightning armor of the Raikages would also be considered a special usage as it takes great skill in order to gain such feats with lightning energy. Fun Fact - Unfocused lightning is not commonly used to destroy earthen structures. Why? Well simply put, unfocused energy doesnt have the strength necessary to pierce through and destroy said structures. That being said, if the lightning technique is high enough in ranking and the structure in question is small and weak it does have the potential to destroy it. That being said, this does not mean that unfocused lightning is useless against earth release. Although not having the higher potential to destroy techniques it does have the necessary strength to neutralize the earth chakra manipulating the structure, thus successfully ending the technique. But when using such methods one has to pay close attention to the techniques they are using it against. For example, it would be very bad to neutralize the earth chakra of an earthen projectile. Why? Because you would surely remove control of said projectile, however the force and momentum would still carry, thus still potentially hit you.
Coating: As I have previously stated, weapons can be coated with lightning in order to increase their cutting or paralyzing capabilities. thanks once again =DI'm glad it was helpful! Now, it's time for you to learn how to use nature transformation in order to turn your raw chakra into that of lightning energy. I want you to grab a hold of this small piece of paper that I will be giving you. I then want you to try and focus your chakra on it. While doing so, I want you to think of the properties of lightning and everything we've discussed so far. If the nature transformation succeeds, the paper should wrinkle.

Firstly i take the chakra paper and channel raw chakra into it, while doing so i also concentrate on creating lightning chakra, by using nature manipulation i try to change the raw chakra into lightning one, firstly i think of the properties of lightning, cutting, shocking, electrifying, killing, piercing, stabbing and a lot others, i also think about the discussion that we had with Senpai, he told me a lot of things, i should not disappoint him, the things he told me about lightning were the best, field type, projectile type, coating type, unfocused type and special type, i will learn all of these types, i will not disappoint senpai, with a determined look i change the chakra into lightning change and channeling it to the paper making it wrinkle, i start panting heavily since it wasn't that easy doing that . . . it was quite Hard [xD] but i think i succed, i just look at Senpai and look at him with a questioned look without wanting to talk, i will talk after finishing the job, now it was time for actions not talks.
The paper begins to move slightly, although not wrinkle entirely.
That was good, though it seems you are lacking one very important thing. Think back on what you told me yourself about lightning chakra and how it is created. Trace back your steps and try to incorporate them into your nature transformation!

I see . . . thank you for pointing that out for me, i finally know what i left out :')

Noticing the paper slightly move i just focus into it, i thought that it's gonna wrinkle but it just moved and wrinkle . . . just a little tiny bit, a single sweat rolls through my face as i make a panting face since this was quite hard but after Senpai talks to me i just look at his eyes again and just take the paper again with a smile in my face, i finally know what i did wrong, i just do the same process as earlier and channel raw chakra into it and while doing that i think of what i and Senpai said, while thinking i use nature manipulation to change the raw chakra into lightning by adding high frequency vibrations to my chakra creating lightning chakra, as i do that i just channel it at the chakra paper in my hand and once again i look at Sensei with a confident smile with a 'we made it' look.
EXCELLENT! That's exactly what I wanted you to do. (Changing the frequency of your chakra!)
Now it's time to learn your very first technique. I want you to focus chakra around your mouth and apply what you've just learned. I want you to use nature transformation and change the frequency of your chakra and turning it into that of lightning energy. Once that's done, I want you to use shape manipulation and release the stored energy outwards. As it is being 'spewed' out of your mouth I want you to shape the energy into that of a lightning bolt(s). The lightning bolt should travel towards the direction that you were initially looking at.
Now, after doing so please explain to me your thoughts on the technique, any possible weak points or strong ones you may notice? Please skip the regular weaknesses like elemental strengths and weaknesses with their corresponding ranks. I want you to think outside the box and attempt to pick out things about the technique that you may notice.
